Thanks for the link George !
![]() I moved my daughter up to Sonoma St. this weekend and we had NO TV, NO cable, NO internet - only the San Francisco rag and radio. I missed so much. We ate out every night just to catch some TV in the bar. What an AWESOME victory ![]() |

That was definitely sweeeeeet! Too bad the same thing happened to us by the Aussies 1 or 2 Olympics ago. Lezak just utterly dominated that last leg though! After that turn I thought there was no way he could catch a half body length and he freaking did it! Huge for the USA and huge for Phelps on his way to an Olympic medal record.

I'd venture a guess that the Lezak household went from collectively holding the breath to "call the cops!" loud ![]() ![]() ![]()

That was a great Olympic moment. Very inspirational and motivational! Those Frenchies should feel stupid for talkin' smack and not backing it up. When are athletes gonna learn that when you talk smack like that, you're hurting your chances and giving your competition motivation to beat you?! Even the announcer was discounting the Americans and stating that there's no chance of beating the French. That guy should be fired for being so pessimistic and negative. Jason Lezak's will clearly won the gold for the team. What a great come back!
Good to see an African-American involved in swimming. I hope that's a sign of more to come.

While the French team wasn't able to back it up, I find the criticism directed towards their team to be immature and lame, at best. Whatever happened to being a humble winner and a gracious loser? For the most part, I was relieved to watch that the announcers took the race for what it was: it was a once-in-a-lifetime race that we were lucky to experience, and not a "F*** you" to the French.
But damn, that kick over the final 20 or so meters was a unfreakin believable! slowSSer, what was the difference? |

here's an interesting tidbit- the timing computers they use take times out the the thousanth of a second to eliminate ties. the scoreboards usually can't even show to the third digit past the decimal. Quote:
i've watched it about 4 times on MSNBC this morning and it's still amazing to see.

NBC.com has some pretty good streaming video (and it's decent quality). I don't have cable either.

I don't have cable too. I watch the basketball games on nbcolympics.com. It's great, does not have commentators.
