Default some people will just never understand

so now that I'm almost done mourning I can share my fatefull story. I get home yesterday after work/after ride and while there was no damage sustained in our home due to the earthquake (candidly I was very suprised some of the stuff on the mantel and pics hanging on the wall were stll in place) but then I see it...oh no...please let it be a mirage. I walk over slowly, shaking, heart pounding, getting whiter with each step (okay whiter than my wonder bread complexion). then I realize my worst nightmare. no not my bikes, but...i can heardly even say it but here goes...my beer fridge door must have openned from the mad tremors and all my beer was warm must have been open for 9 hours. poor, poor beers, poor poor me!!! how long can these friends of mine take it. did they know it was coming. can they sense it like animals. poor, poor little guys. so what could a guy do. yes, its true I sat there and shed a tear. my arrogant b@stard was a mere sniviling complainer. my fat tire had a pinch flat, my kona's longboards were stinky. my corona's were well corona's (hmm, must be the cochroachers of the beer kingdom). so what does this have to do with the subject title. well all my east coast kin called to see how we were and after telling them me, my wife, son and dog were fine I proceed to muster the courage to share the sad sad news about my beer. what do I get but silence. there eventual response, 'glad to hear everything is fine'. everything fine. wtf like I said, some people just don't understand.

Dood,I learned the hard way some years ago,('87 Whittier quake).Put a latch or some kind of mechanical lock on your beer fridge!Your neglect let some fine beers,(except the Coronas),die an unatural death. That should not happen. May God have mercy on your poor soul.(At least ya got a good reason to visit your local beverage store to,ya know, replace and stock-up!)- Lloyd

Get them into a cool, dark environment, STAT! There's still a chance to save them...except the Coronas, those were dead before the quake...

dood - a flip top. and i thought i was the rookie. how the h-ll would my 2 year old be able to open that to get daddy a beer. i bow to your knowledge of hops, malt, barley, etc, but you have a bit more to learn here.

two best things you can hear from your 2 year old son.
  1. me and daddy go ride!
  2. get daddy a beer?
(and not nesessarily in that order)

thanks to all for their support, like others that have experienced similar tragedy i shall get though this

I'm SO sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept my sincerest condolences. The beer is certainly ruined.

Just let me know of a convenient time that I can come by and pick up the damaged beer. I will personally supervise, with the utmost dignity and respect, the disposition that your beer so richly deserves.

no one is allowed to remove anything from my beer fridge but me. no kids here anyway, but if I'll ever beat my future children it will be because they violate my beer fridge rules.
