Whoa Brandon! I'm not the world's biggest fan of cops, but I gotta say:
the ones we have in Claremont are pretty d@mn good compared to most other places.

You may need to lower you're expectations of law enforcement. Or maybe you just got the one bad one.

But in general, cops are spozed to be lazy. That's why they say, "Bad cop, no donut."

I'd say 90% of the police are messed up. This is just MHO but I have had a lot of interaction with cops. I am 100% a law abiding citizen. I'm a home owner, tax payer etc. I can't tell you how many times I've been hassled by cops!

Happens all the time. They pull me over just to find out that I have no warrants, my driving record is perfect, my car is registered to me and current, etc. Then they just say "have a nice day" and let me go.

They do whatever they want and expect "respect" from people. However, what they really get is fear. People are afraid of cops. It isn't "respect."

Now, not all cops are jerks. A few I am sure are pretty nice, but for the most part they are lame.

So I can relate to "hate the individual, not the group" but it's hard when they all seem the same to me.

I think it's the Bukowski character in the movie Barfly that says "I seem to feel better when they're not around!" I apply that to the police.

actually, i must say EVERY claremont cop i have come in contact with has been a Dick to me. Very unproffesional, and has always managed to lie. I dont hate cops in whole, my dad and stepmom are both police officers, but when you light off a safe and sane firework to scare the pool guy, and the cop tries to take you to jail claiming " im taking you for assault with an explosive", yeah of course i am going to be pissed. Not only that, he knocked so hard, i didnt answer the door for a few minutes cuz he scared the Shit outta me... I thought my door was gonna break. As soon as i went outside and greeted him nicely, i was standing so i placed my hands in my pockets nnicely and he yelled at me to take my hands out of my pockets, or he will remove them for me, then asked who was in the house, so i called my friend out, and he insisted more people were in the house.. Then, i tried to get up and closed my door and he said where are you going sit down. I calmly tried to explain i didnt want to get in trouble for letting the cool air out and running the bill high for the air conditioning...
THen, he called my grandma, who didnt answer, and he came back and said she didnt answer, so i asked nicely for his contact info, or a business card so i could have her call him when she got home, and he got all pissed and said no. After i told him my side of the story, he said" Thats Total BullShit. That story is not true, stop the Bullshit and tell me what the hell really happened."
By now i was pissed. the other cop standing there when the dick went to go talk to the pool guys, and he's like boy, you realize your facing a few years in jail for this? I told him that i wasnt stupid, and to bullshit people who didnt have parents that were cops.. he stopped talking and thought, then i asked him what charges were p;ossible and he listed
Assault with a deadly weapon
Attempted assault
aggrivated assault
and assault with an explosive device. I literally laughed in his face, and said nice try dood, cant fool me. by now the other cop came back and cussed some more, and when he paused i sat there staring at him, then he said, Well what are you two waiting for? Excuse me? i said, and he said to get inside. so we walked inside.
Just trying to abuse his power, but i was not impressed. Im going to call the department tomorrow and leave him a voicemail updating him on the explosives law.. And that the firework i used was Safe and Sane acording to the california fire commision office or whatever.

Careful there muchacho. Even if you've got family on the force you can still end up getting the shitty end of the stick. I can almost guarentee I've had more dealings with police then 90% of people who post here and let me tell you, you can't win. Let it go. You'll get over it.

I'm pretty sure your not required to go outside, and if your drunk and do step out, well, that is then drunk in public.

all i know is when i saw that guy get off the 22 fwy on a mini bike (that he obviously made after being up for 5 days in a hotel room)at 9pm with no lights and no helmet the cops that pulled him over were totally crazy....

ive had some decent dealings with cops. (i do work with them on a daily basis too tho)

I just got a porsche painted and partially re-assembled (no lights,mirrors, plates) and took it for a 2am spin with an open header (Deafening loud).

Got popped speeding down a big street at 2am at WOT (wide open throttle 100+ db). Guy asked me what i was doing.. said 'just really excited to drive it, and wanted to take it for an early spin. He asked where i lived, and i pointed to the housing tract i lived in.. he said 'TAKE IT HOME NOW!'

Well, after the two pansies(pool guys) that dumped 2 bottles of chlorine in our saltwater pool were about 20 feet around the corner down the driveway, i dropped a firework out of my window, ran around the other room, and watched them run and scream
then 15 minutes later i was on STR and i heard a banging on my door i thought they came back, but it was the Cops instead.

Mind you, this was a locally bought safe and sane firework.
