anywho, I was at a mandatory orientation for Huntington Beach PD for all potential candidates last night, and while I have a BA in Criminal Justice, I just don't see myself ever being one of "those" guys. Heck, imagining being a cop is hard enough (still have a main interest in CJ though). But that whole scare tactic is a good one no matter the offense or the person.

I've been lied to, threatened with charges I know wouldn't hold up, and "talked" to with a variety of words, and even when you know they're liar/cheaters/unprofessional, you still have to play it cool

Help me understand your thought process. It's ok for you to be a dick to the pool guy but it's not ok for a cop to be a dick to you?

Do you think cops enjoy mediating disputes between pool guys and punks with fireworks?

If you want to have some fun with fireworks at the pool man's expense at least have the stones to accept responsibility for your actions. Coming on STR complaining about being hassled by the man makes you look like a spoiled brat with too much time on his hands.

This is a topic i'm able to comment on from much experience, as I spent a large part of my life on the 'wrong' side of the law. During all of those years, cops were always dicks... harrassing and treating me and everyone else wrongly. Poor me, always the victim. At a certain point, I began to accept responsibility (AND the consequences) for my actions.

Now, with close to 15 years as a law abiding and productive member of society, I view police much differently. They are generally just like you and I, decent people going out everyday doing a difficult job.

Try to imagine having to deal with crisis situations, sickening and disgusting crimes, violence, and the dregs of society on a daily basis. It's no surprise they may be unpleasant when dealing with childish pranks.

how do you prove you threw any firework anywhere if it exploded and there was no witness, Rickys number 1 tip for law enforcement, DONT SAY YOU DID ANYTHING, your just a stupid person and have no clue whats going on, most of the time is stupid people running there mouths, about how the firework they threw was safe and sane, instead of just saying I have no clue what your talking about. it was just the 4th of july and theres people with fireworks everywhere

THen, he called my grandma, who didnt answer, and he came back and said she didnt answer, so i asked nicely for his contact info, or a business card so i could have her call him when she got home, and he got all pissed and said no. After i told him my side of the story, he said" Thats Total BullShit. That story is not true, stop the Bullshit and tell me what the hell really happened."
By now i was pissed. the other cop standing there when the dick went to go talk to the pool guys, and he's like boy, you realize your facing a few years in jail for this? I told him that i wasnt stupid, and to bullshit people who didnt have parents that were cops.. he stopped talking and thought, then i asked him what charges were p;ossible and he listed
Assault with a deadly weapon
Attempted assault
aggrivated assault
and assault with an explosive device. I literally laughed in his face, and said nice try dood, cant fool me. by now the other cop came back and cussed some more, and when he paused i sat there staring at him, then he said, Well what are you two waiting for? Excuse me? i said, and he said to get inside. so we walked inside.
Just trying to abuse his power, but i was not impressed. Im going to call the department tomorrow and leave him a voicemail updating him on the explosives law.. And that the firework i used was Safe and Sane acording to the california fire commision office or whatever.
