ODB: That's my coffee store too. You been spying on me? I havent seen you there! I also go to Peet's on Portola & Culver in Irvine. Great coffee. Also, no internet hook up in Peet's. Classical music and nobody lives there all day. Their pastries are from La Brea bakery. A brand new store opened at the District in Tustin. |

death to starbucks. the last time i went in one was in madrid. my wife was desperate for caffeine and it was the only place we could find. it cost as much as it would have here, although everything else in the city was cheap. starbucks is to coffee what paris hilton is to acting.
all you fans of real coffee shops should check take a trip to san luis obispo and check out linnea's (and others). |

Here's some serious coffee! When we ordered this in Italy, they give you a glass of water to sip after you drink the coffee. Powerful stuff!

Hey Dirtmistress. When I lived in Seattle I worked off of Broadway in Capitol hill ( Pike st and Pine to be exact), there was a coffee Kart every block with really good coffee.Coffee is a big thing in the PAC NW.I no longer drink coffee so Starbucks means nothing to me.

My wife sometimes makes me watch that "ruggedly handsome, clever, perfect intonation" SOB Mike Rowe on tv. The upside was when they did an episode on the Mountain Thunder coffee plantation. I googled them had them send me a pound of the good stuff, and now that's all I drink. Go to www.mountainthunder.com. You won't be sorry. Oh yeah, if you wanna take it to the Nth degree, only make the coffee in a French press. All the coffee flavor, no acidity, no bitterness.
