I heard a Ford commercial about a month ago how their cars "can be" just as reliable as aToyota! So, GM goes after Nissan and Ford goes after Toyota! Pathetic....... I wished that the American auto mfgr's would just listen to their own campaigns and just build an awesome performing yet reliable car that needs no explanation! |

Two different drivers
. And how much seat time the GTR driver has in that car compared the ZR1 driver? I can't seem to find the GTR video without the split screen. Anyone?

I'm with ken that driver was not very smooth through some of the corners and some of the line he took was a bit fishy....must be an amature....not I would know...I drive very slow. But that car sure has potential, he was doing 120 on the straight but think he forgot to shift at many places. 3k rpm at some corners? maybe I'm use to Japanese cars but I would keep the needle pined through the corners.
But if Ken say so I will agree. ![]()

I'm a FUN-GI!

That's a VERY impressive lap. The Vette may have some cheesy plastics inside, but you can't argue with a lap time like that.
Not to mention, that run was 100% production stock. Street tires, pump gas, 100% factory settings engine and suspension. VERY impressive. PS...179 mph on the back straight!!! I'm not even a domestic fan (I'm a euro guy), but fast is fast! "Despite posting one of the fastest times ever run by a production car, Nürburgring lap times were not an over-riding priority in the development of the ZR1. The truth is, if the only priority was speed at the ring, the car would not be very pleasant to drive on American roads. The ZR1 is an incredibly capable track machine, but unlike most ultra-high performance cars, it is very easy to live with on a daily basis."
