Default What Bluetooth headset to buy?

With the new hands free law going into affect on July first I need to buy a Bluetooth headset, I currently have a Razor phone but will be switching to the new iphone.
I need recommendation on a good Bluetooth headset, the two I’m looking at and have received good reviews are the Plantronics Discovery 925 and the Jawbone; both are in the $70 range. I have also heard good thing about the Motorola.

Does it have to be a headset or would a combo GPS-hands free blue tooth device work as well? I like the Garmin Nuvi 360 ($224 @ Amazon).

Jawbone is the best noise canceling headset out. the original one is a bit large but I heard they just released a new smaller one.

I just installed a Parrot bluetooth integrated hands free in my company car and it.s awsome. no worrying about charging/forgetting/losing hadsets.

I really like my Jabra http://www.shop.jabra.com/jabra/Shop...temskuid=31004

The Jawbone is OK, didn't like the way it feels.

I also like that the Jabra can stream music via bluetooth from the phone. Nice little feature.

Jawbone can be difficult to use the buttons.

I use the Motorola HS850 and have for years. I also gave it as a chirstmas present last year and the person is enjoying it.

http://www.cellphoneshop.net/hs850s.html

I like it because it has a swing arm. That way just incase I dont think i hung up, I just close the boom arm and I know for sure I have hung up. Also, If I put it in a pocket in my purse while I am in a meeting I dont have to worry that something hit the button since the swing arm is closed it can "acciently" call someone.

Jawbone. I always ask people if they can tell if I'm on a headset and thy say no. My only complaint is that the fit is a little awkward for putting it on fast if you get a call while driving.

The new one looks really good, but I haven't had the need to replace my current one yet.

Eff the headset/hands-free gadgets. I'm taking the new law as an opportunity to NOT accept phone calls in the car. I may even start throwing my phone in the trunk.

Will we be able to use speaker phone while driving or will bluetooth be necessary? I really don't want to carry another thing around.

Yes, we will. I was planning to do so anyway for a few months because you KNOW bluetooth manufactures are going to raise the price as demand goes up as the law goes into effect so I'll just wait until they come back down in price (or until I see a good deal on fatwallet/slickdeals). The radio (1070am) confirmed the legality of my plan (using speakerphone) today.

You beat me to it...like i ever felt bad about not answering the phone anyway. Everybody walking around with those bluetooths (blueteeth? what is the plural?) look pretty silly anyway. Call me a luddite, but I want to be inaccessible some of the time.
It can ring all it wants - i'll just turn the music up louder...

If you are an apple fan the apple one works really well and comes with a cool charging unit that also holds your Iphone/Ipod.

One clarification: I will continue to take my phone into the sh-tter with me. I like nothing better than getting some business done while doin' my business.

Seriously, we have jackarses in my office park who do this all the time ... savages who should be banished to a far-away island where they can jabber at one another on their Crackberrys while squatting over an open hole in the ground.

I have/use the Motorola Rokker(sp?) which also doubles as headphones for your ipod. It automatically mutes the music if a call comes in. Not sure if they are legal though since technically you can't have both ears coverd while driving even though the phone feature only comes in through one ear.
Anybody know for sure?

The law says you do not have to use a bluetooth device. You can talk on your cell phone using the speakerphone feature:

Where exactly does it say that?

The link I quoted says you can dial a cell phone while driving, but I have seen nothing stating that you can't hold it in your hand.

Not saying you're incorrect, just that I haven't seen anything official saying you can't hold the phone in your hand. Just trying to be factually correct.
