Default Paging Brewmaster, Xhuskr ...

... and all the other beer geeks ...

Article in yesterday's L.A. Times on cask-conditioned ales, in case you all missed it. A companion story name-checks xhuskr's second home, aka Beachwood Barbecue in Seal Beach.

Thnx Toby..Beachwood (http://beachwoodbbq.com/) does have one cask and about 23 other beers. I know that BrewBakers in HB is fermenting a RyePA in a Bourban Barrel now and Beachwood should get some of that....

Have a hoppy Thursday all!

Thanks for the heads up. I like me some good cask conditioned ales. I've never been to Beachwood BBQ.

The best place I have ever been to for real ales is probably Arbor Brewing Company in Ann Arbor, MI. They treat their hand pump and cask ale like a member of the family. Their Sacred Cow IPA on cask is what bring me back there every time I am in town.

Taps in Brea always keeps at least one of their beers on cask. Kevin's been trying to get me up to Beechwood since last year's Traverse...we need to organize a saturday afternoon assault on that place some time!

Stone does weekly special cask releases - things like double dry-hopped ruination, IPA with columbus, porter with vanilla beans, that kinda stuff. Pizza Port just had the Real Ale festival back at the beginning of the month, with 60+ hand-pumped beers. Mmmm....
