DMV Scooter question for people

Ok delima ..
a few years ago a friends dad gave me a 1986 spree 50, (the slowest scooter ever)
always said he had the titile for it but lost it somewhere , it is not stolen !!!
anyways I always just rode it around the neighbor hood and didnt really care about getting new plates
is there anyway to obtain a title so i can register the thing???
Its slow, and 20 years old but kind of cool in a way. Anyone had experience with this kind of thing? I'm sure i would need to get the vin numbers checked by the dmv or police but is it even possible ???

you'll need a title application and affidavit for lost or stolen title. You can get them both at the DMV website

did your friend's dad registered it to his name? as far as i know.. under 50cc do not need to be registered..

My roommate dealt with a similar problem with registering his R6. It's a long process and you have to jump through a lot of hoops. Good luck.

I dont know if you can use that under 50cc rule or not it is designed with gopeds in mind and Im not sure if a scooter with a real seat can used with that rule

as far as know the last time the scooter was registered was to a friend of my friends dad in 1990 ish they used it on theyre rv and have past on.

Ill need another scooter for the gang if we caused any ruckus on this thing they might sprint and catch up, but mystepdad does work for yamaha so I may be able to get a C3 or Zuma and build it up

I read somewhere that they are making a Zuma 125... looks interesting. Do it and we can all terrorize below the speed limit!!!

seriously lets start a scooter gang! Ricky get the Zuma! I think your current scooter may not be worth the hassle just to register. Four of my other buddies are getting one as well.

I've always wanted to reign terror with a cape and doing walking speed with a scooter!

you may be able to talk yourself out of a ticket, I dont know if that much dmv work is worth it on a free scooter worth maybe 200 bucks that tops out at 30 on flat ground

Im gonna work on a zuma 125 see if I can get a deal on it hopefully I can find street tires that size and get rid of the chunky things it comes with

I randomly have an old scooter in my garage right now, probably a lot like the one you've got. I think it's a Honda spree...

It's my buddy's and I think it ran at one point. I can't believe how tiny that thing is! I say get a new scoot and ditch the car. Doo ittt

ha ha Im not ditching the car, sprees are simple to get running I have the shop book on it if you want to play with it,

No thanks, its at my place cuz my roommate is a mechanic and my buddy dropped it off to be fixed up in the first place. Thus far it's doing a better job collecting dust. Thanks though.

That would be awesome!!!! Cape would be just way too funny!!!! But remember what happened to those supers with cape in the Incredibles? I'm down for a short cape!

looks like I ride it and try to talk my way out of trouble or...
I have to file an intent of lein sale, wait a caouple weeks and file a lien sale of abandon veichle then sell it to myself and get issed a new title I dont know if its worth it for a spree
