be patient, tolerant, and you will have fun. Lived there for 6 years and we went every year, but always knew what we were getting into.

No different then the OC fair.

sorry about that. It is the Orange County equal to the fair. We lived in SD and moved to the OC two years ago. The fairs are about 50 miles apart but are very similar. Think country, cheap, and simple and you will have fun.

SD County fair is great if you're interested in trying the latest/greatest in deep fried treats. One year it was Twinkees, the next Snickers...

Who knows what's in store this year...

Oh, and Mini Kiss was there last year...

Weekdays are no good for this working stiff. Let me know if you're up for something on a Saturday.

Glad to see you found some responses. Those crickets you were talking to over at MTBR weren't giving you anything useful...

Enjoy your stay...

I went in Sunday and saw fried oreo's, I didn't have the room for it since I destroyed a funnel cake.

I think it will always be the Del Mar Fair, no matter what they change the name to.

I go 2-3 times a year. Great people watching and great food. Fried Twinkies are a tradition.
