Default Looking for quick reply: Scotch

Most fitting post for the pub:

Some friends bought me a very nice bottle of single malt "cask strength" scotch. It's a brand (Laphroig) I've been drinking for years, just not the "cast strength." Has anyone had experience with this and what would be a good "cut" ratio with water as it's about impossible to drink "neat."

We plan on sampling this after dinner and I don't want to over cut it.

The brand is "Laphroig." This isn't, for lack of better term "a regular scotch," that is bottled for drinking. This is straight from the cask and uncut. If you could enjoy it with 4 cubes, my hat goes off to you my friend.

A buddy of mine had a bottle of this fine libation years ago and sipping it straight was like drinking rocket fuel.

This is a house full of sailors: what that means is that you're always welcome, but a night of drinking usually involves a "911 call" and a visit from the police.

You just put about a teaspoon in. It should be good water (not tap) and also not cold. Room temp. Enjoy!

Thanks for that ... do you know any priests?

I'm thinking that I can always add some more water so maybe I'll start with a small amount like you're suggesting.

Well my friend if you ever find your way down to my neck of the woods, I can make that happen. We do a shop ride every Thursday evening, if you'd like to join in the fun.

Marines are always welcome! Some of my best friends have served in or are in the corps.
