You'd have to try pretty hard to get bitten and invenomnated by one. They eat really small prey, and a nominally docile.
Gopher snakes on the other hand, will "musk" you, bite (and chew), hiss, mock-rattle and chase you!!! One of God's nastier little creatures if you ask me. |

There is one thing I want to point out about that article. King snakes are not immune to other snakes venom, they are just good at avoiding getting bitten. They do lose from time to time though, I have lost a couple when feeding them a rattlesnake before.

coachwhips (red racer) are awsome super intelligent and will bite the hell out of you, striped racers will also, I know a naturalist working for an OC school district that got the crap bit out of him by a coachwhip in front of a class of 4th graders

Damnit, your making me want to go out to Verbania or whitewater and see what I can find. Been a long time since I been out there looking for Snakes, lots of different species out there. The Verbania area is awesome, I like it much more than whitewater, we used to go back and forth between the two. Last time I got myself about a four foot Cali kind that was about 1 3/4 around, big son of a gun!!! Got him bread with another and let him go
