I need ammunition for my argument with the big cheese. The price of gas is gonna empty my coffers soon if I don't get off the road. Anyone have luck getting their boss to go along with this? (My office is too far to ride to.) I do graphics and it's a no~brainer to use the internet as a freeway.

i'm in design as well and my boss just starting thinking about the idea of telecommuting and remote access from home.
i can actually ride to work (7miles) which i may considering doing in the near future once my new rig is built. but others can use the telecommuting benefit. good luck with your situation. let us know how it goes. |

Software Dev. I work remote on Mondays and Fridays.
We use an IM client for quick conversations. We get on the phone when it's necessary. Really, I think I work better from home because there are fewer interruptions from my coworkers. They're less likely to go through the trouble to put an email together, and they're more likely to try to work it out themselves (which they should have done in the first place...). Don't really have any compelling arguments other than the ones you listed already, but I probably work more because I'm not getting ready to leave or driving or any of that...
