Thumbs up Another PROUD DAD Story

So my youngest girl Kaylee just finished off her first track season for Utt Middle School here in Tustin.

Her events are;

Long Jump - personal best is 13' 10"
100 Yard Dash - personal best 12.21
330 Relay (anchor leg)
660 Relay (anchor leg)

The City Finals where this past Tues (field events), and Thursday (running events).

She won the Long Jump, with a jump of 13 feet even.
Second place jummped 12' 5 1/2".

She also won the 100 Yard Dash, with a time of 12.7 seconds.

Their 330 Relay team placed second.

And they won the 660 Relay race.

If you're not familar with the 660, it goes like this;
first two leg's do quarter laps
third leg does a half lap
anchor leg (Kaylee) does a full lap.

When Kaylee recieved the botton for her leg of the race, they were in 4th place.

You could probably hear me yelling from miles away, "GO KAYLEE, GO!"

I ran accross the field to get another picture, and she had passed one girl, and was within 10 yards of the first two runners!

Me yelling again, VERY LOUDLY, "GO GET'em KAYLEE, GET'em"!

And by the time I ran back, she had passed the other two girls, and was leading them by at least 3 yards!

Thinks she's tired?

Sort of a "tired" smile.

The winning team (+ a friend)

I had seen Kaylee run while playing soccer, and knew she had some wheels. This was the first time I had the chance to actually watch her run a race.

Holy CRAP! She's FAST!

Anyways, hope you enjoyed my (bragging Dad) post as much as I enjoyed posting it.

Thanks for reading!

Thats awesome doood, I wished my Dad was involved in my sports the way you are with your son and daughter. She is going to rock the athletics as soon as she gets in high school.

12.21 in the 100 for a middle school girl is pretty darn fast. If she keeps at it I smell a sports scholarship in the Maxwell family.

Way to stay involved D

Thanks for sharing with us Darin. Proud dads make kids feel better about what they're doing. You can't buy that.

If there is a Maxwell in a pic, I expect someone to be bleeding. Tell her to body check one of the other kids next time, just to keep it interesting. :d

Congratulations! I know I could give one of your kids a cricket bat or something and they'd be champs within a week! Thanks, again, for sharing the story. If the time ever comes when I have kids, I look forward to these type of moments.

Next lunch for the Maxwell family at Super Antojitos is on me!
