I love cats. I love coyotes. I love skunks. I love mountain lions. I love people. I love dogs. They're all part of the whole of nature. But so far I have been seriously threatened only by people and dogs.

Dissapearing cats remind of this guy I used to work with who was soo pissed at the neighborhood cats for crapping in his flowerbed and leaving footprints all over his car.

He bought an animal trap and would trap the cats. He would bring them to work and release them on the jobsite until he got rid of them all. He used to call it "taking them for a ride" Kinda sucks!

So it's not only coyotes doing the deed. I've also seen Golden eagles right here in my housing tract. They are capable of carting off an animal of over 20 pounds or more.

We had a neighbor that did that too. He trapped my cat along with several of our neighbor's cats. I figured out what was happening and made his life a living hell. I had the local newspaper do a story about him, had animal control called out on his house everyday and plastered every damn tree around his house with lost cat signs. Finally he couldn't take it anymore and literally took us to each location he dumped our cats. We recovered 4 of them, including mine. Then the dick head moved out of the neighborhood about a month later.

That guy was a dickhead for dumping the cats. He should have taken them to the pound. I have no problem with trapping nuisance cats even if they are beloved pets. I have really never gotten why cat owners feel their cats have the right to roam all over the neighborhood. As a homeowner, I really don't appreciate my neighbors cats crapping allover my flowerbeds, getting pawprints and scratchmarks from claws on my car, the screaming of a cat fight at 2:00 am, etc.

If you love your cats so much, why not keep them inside? The average lifespan of an outdoor cat is only about 3.5 yrs before they get killed (cars, dogs, coyotes, etc) where as an indoor cat will live upto 16 or 17 years on average. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate cats or anything.... I just get really annoyed at dickhead cat owners who apparently think that the world is their cat's litterbox.

In Cali, Yotes are considered a "nuisance" and are legal to hunt all year and anywhere (check your city ordnance to be sure) and if you can bag yer self a Yote go for it. One catch though, cant use a "firearm" with in city limits (this includes bows, crossbows, pellet guns, etc etc etc).

yea, but when you kill them they compensate by producing bigger litters. we just need to get used to them. people in my neighborhood keep their cats inside or they don't last very long. coyotes are important to have in the ecosystem since we've "removed" so many other predators.
