It is near SCST, but it's on the base. It looks like it's near the artillery range, and they were launching artillery earlier, but smoke is deceiving, and it could be farther away. My office is right there, and I was watching the helicopter doing water pickups from one of the ponds at the golf course.

It's behind the Northrop Grumman base at the end of Pico. I live in Talega and saw the smoke earlier, so I drove over to check it out. The wind is onshore, so I do not suspect this is going anywhere. There were three helicopters pulling H20 out of the lake at the Pacific Country Club and dumping on the fire. I can still hear helicopters but from my house I can't tell if they are news or fire.

I could see smoke on my evening ride along Bommer Ridge. Hard to tell where it was coming from.
