We have the '08 RAV 4 Sport 4WD - all hail the company car. With the rear seats folded down, I can get three bikes in the back no problem. So far, my wife loves it alot better than the Pacifica she had previously. I can't attest to the towing/hauling capabilities since we can't add a receiver.
Honest fuel milage that we get running up and down the hill is still around 22-24 MPG - not too bad for a 3.5L

I bought my kid a 2003 RAV4 a while back. It's been a real good car for her. I tried to stuff my bike in the back once and while it DID fit, it was somewhat difficult to get it in there without having to take the front wheel off.
Good dependable car as far as I'm concerned. |

we were between the 2008 rav4 or the '08 element ex. we went the element and i could not be happier. rear seats go in/out really easy, we can carry 3 bikes + gear in the back with our homemade removable fork mounts. very comfortable, we've camped inside it, and gets decent milage for a car that size. we're considering getting another for our 2nd car... we only wish it was hybrid.
i seriously can not imagine a better car for us for that price range.

I have a '96 RAV4, 2WD. My average gas mileage is 24-26 MPG (about half city/half highway). I've driven about 12,000 of the 212,000 miles logged on the car, so reliability is a plus.
A chick car? Mebbe. But once you stuff a bike in the back, it becomes my kind of car. ![]() I can fit my bike in without taking off the front wheel. (diagonally)Even though it a small SUV, it does have enough ground clearance. I would get another one if I had the chance, especially with 260 hp under the hood. That or a 4Runner. Or a truck. |

Wife has an '07 V-6 Sport and we've had zero problems so far. The front seats do seem a little cramped but we use it for our road trips to Sedona, etc. and it's comfortable. We put two bikes in the back on a fork mount Saris rack and there's plenty of room left over for luggage and anything else we pick up on our trips.
We average about 25mpg and we have no problem with passing power. I just wish the front seats moved back a bit more and the cushions were a bit deeper (front to back) and it would be perfect. I'm only 5'7" so it's not because I'm too big. Kevin |

I test drive a lot of those at the Auctions, very few of them have problems. But that goes for all Toyotas. Best cars made in my opinion (well besides Mercedes, but Im partial as a Benz Tech). I think that 80% of mechanics would agree.
