Thumbs up So Ellsworth wants to sponsor me...
I got this voicemail about 1/2 hour ago, it went like this:

"Hi Phil, this is George from the Ellsworth Bikes downhill division. We are looking for someone to give a full bike sponsorship to. Please give me a call at (714) 453-2211 if you are interested"

I start thinking...no way. This is awesome I am going to be sponsored?!

Hold on I am not nearly good enough to merit this. Whatever, can't hurt to call right?

Then I think...how did they get my number And wait a minute, this was on my work phone!

so I remember that we have caller ID at work... as it turns out, Ellsworth Bikes is sharing the SAME office as Jones & Company Insurance!!!


Surprised that fellow mtn bike enthusiast and insurance agent Derek Jones, would have such a close relationship with Ellsworth, I called him to find out what he knew. Maybe he pointed them in my direction??

He was giving me some great info and tips when all of a sudden, something occurred to me! Derek referred to George... but I never told him it was George who called me!!



Then the thought struck me...what if this is all a cruel joke!?! So I confronted him...and it was true!
So there is no sponsorship...imagine my dismay!



I thought some of you could use a laugh...

(Back story: I work closely with Derek, I am in the insurance industry also. He is retail, I am wholesale)
