I rode through a huge bush of poision oak yesterday. I was a little worried! But as of today, no effect. Just thought I would rub it in. Now Im sure I will crash on my next ride and probably deserve it.Now do I hit that submit new thread??????????????????? Ah what the hell.Got to live up to my reputation.

I used to do the same... for about ten years I didn't know what all this pretty, shiny green stuff I was riding through was. Then it started. Then it got worse. Then I found out what those leaves of three were.
The more you expose yourself, the higher your chances over time of becoming sensitive. Enjoy immunity while you have it! Oh, and report back. It takes about 48 - 72 hours to come out on most people.

I'm not allergic to it either! Everybody else always seems to throw things at me when I say that...
Good to know I'm not the only one that can't feel empathy for poison oak sufferers; sympathy, of course, since it sure looks like getting poison oak sucks and is painful. But empathy? Sorry...

I hope you're wrong, but as a kid I used to clean all the poison Ivy from my Grandparents house with no gloves or shirt: just shorts, socks and shoes..Maybe I built a tolerance??? Looks miserable.

As others have mentioned, you are not out of the woods yet. From contact to rash it can take me up to three weeks to break out. I get it were my clothing has rubbed the oils into the skin, like my wrists around where my gloves are, waist band on my shorts, neck line of my jersey and ankles were my socks start. I hope you will be OK.

Well just to add. Dean when I was younger I slept in a bed of poison oak (Marine corps on a night patrol) and It never did anything. I hope my immunity is still good.I did not even know it was oak until I stopped and looked back. The bushes in the San Gabs are so big compared to those in Orange county. The bush was head high.So my contact is a for sure thing.Legs, arms and face.

Keep taking your insensitivity to it lightly and continue doing tumbles through PO fields and the joke will ultimately be on you. I used to be the same way. I never got it and used to talk all kinds of smack to my friends who were allergic to it. What I didn't know then and I wish I did, the more exposure you have the weaker your immune becomes. Take it from someone who's been there and done that; appreciate and respect your short lived immunity.
