Default STR's Collective Bike Wealth?

A few of us were talking about this on Saturday after our San Gabs ride:

What do you think the collective bike wealth (in $$ owned in bikes) is for all the members of STR put together?

We were speculating and came up with some totals, but we'd like to hear yours...have at it

Well, I've got mine insured for 10K. But I've spent well over 15K on everything in the garage that's bike related.

I would say it's over $4M (seriously), but that includes lurkers. I wouldn't be surprised if it's double that.

Mark and I were contemplating this very subject at the Marshall Canyon Newbie ride with 100+ STR members in attendance! We were wondering how much $$$ in bikes was sitting in that parking lot right before the ride...

That wasn't even including all the members who didn't attend and most importantly was only considering the ONE bike the attending members did bring!

Definitely a subject pretty interesting to contemplate!

I don't think I can even begin to imagine how much... It must be somewhere well into the millions...

I am thinking maybe 5 million at purchase price. That is not counting depreciation, or bikes that are in inventory at shops owned by str members.

Between 2WheelLee and Hugh..... That gets you to $30,000!
My Iron Horse MKIII Team was recently appraised at $200,000

I couldn't imagine it being less than $2,000,000....

Then again.... 3,200 members (x) $1,500 (avg per)= $4,800,000

I am thinking all those are way to low. 3220 members for 5 million thats an average of $1552 per person. I would guess the average is closer to $2000 -$2500 per person. I thinking closer to 7.5M

Thats is based on the original price.

well, if we started another thread, only allowing one post per person saying his/her net bike costs, and add it up after the thread slows down and then double or triple that, since not very many people will post. i mean lurkers or non active members etc.

my db is about 3000 retail.

my ss was free, but the paul hubs and wtb rims were 400 retail?

my s&m dirtbike ng frame alone was 400, the hd pitchforks 200.

my new haro zero frame- 115 thanks a lot to 6packguywith5spot.

that makes 4115 for the ones i want to mention.

now multiply that by?

Dino, not every currency directly translates - what you were appraised at is Venezuelan Bolivar. Which makes it about $260. And that's with the Pike.

Thanks for dragging the average down.
