SDSO and SDPD are really hard up for bodies. So is SBSO, LASD and LAPD. All the boomers are hitting retirement age so public safety is hiring anyone who can lie their way through a polygraph.

San Diego Fire need bodies too as does LAFD. Now is the time to get on it if it's what you wanna do.

Good luck.

Too bad. It seems our local pd & their 6 officers have their hands full helping seniors cross the street & chasing down illegal skate boarders in downtown SM sidewalks & could use the extra help.
Besides, in order to be hired in law enforcement, don't you have to have a "pair" of cajones? By the way you ride down, I could swear there was maybe a tiny one. Ouch!

I had quite a bit of experience with police many years ago but not in a long time. Jail sucks!

What's your point, son? All I see is an unstable rider trying to climb while displaying his plummer's crack.

I have a couple neighbors I introduced to mtb'ing. The only place they'll ride is Chino Hills. I made the mistake of taking them to Holy Jim/Trabuco and they swore to arrest me after the ride. Neither one cares for exposure, so the riding places are limited. Still both ride, but not as frequently as a regular would. One guy weighed in at 350 pounds when he started and now is down to 265, but he stands 6'5". And he's the darkest black guy you've ever seen. He 's CHP and our other neighbor is LASD and he's no little guy either. He's 6'2" and I believe he said he's down to 220 from around 275. Most of the weight loss can be attributed to mountain biking and diet. Both are really nice guys but really don't want to mingle with other riders as they like to keep their occupation quiet for obvious reasons.

Both guys are very tenative riders though. I tell them, you'll shoot somebody, but you won't ride your bike down that little hill?

I'm still trying to talk them in to a loop ride. That would be a trip....this little old white guy showing up with these two big burly black guys. I could talk more shiat then Dino and get away with it!

Using a gun for self defense and riding down a hill are no comparison.....

That said. I don't do either (he he he he).......

Well, I do ride down hills.......for fun!!!

, tell us how you really feel..

Lasd is in a hiring "slow down" running an academy every 6months or so compared to every month previously, Lapd is offering hiring incentives, only thing is you have to sign a contract to stay with them for 5 years (i believe 5), so no options to lateral over after a couple of years

I finished the process for La County Sheriffs Dept. about a month back, waiting for the next open academy date (December i believe), mtn biking is helping out my cardio, as well as running and of course pushups/pullups/situps, so future leo here, do i count
