Thank you. I'll head down there after lunch. I've been tasked with making creme brulee for tomorrow evening. Anything other than firm, ripe, sweet raspberries doesn't do it for me.

There's also a Mother's Kitchen if you head south/east on 17th past Newport in CM. If they have raspberries, they'll probably be organic but pricey.

Fresh and Easy....That's TESCO. I think I've had enough of them for a few years.

Liz, you should read the book "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan. It puts all food, including organic, into perspective. It has been a great read for me and has influenced how I shop for food. I highly recommend it.

two words: trader joes.

proof from a recent job:
whole foods organic peanut butter: $8
trader joes organic peanut butter: $4

here's the kicker- they're made in exactly the same place in Ashland, Oregon. nothing diffrerent. even check out the bottles the p-butter comes in- the only difference is the label.

berries: much the same, from what I've seen of late.

yes, i know that TJs is hit and miss on what they've got, so give em a call.

mmm. fresh berrys on creme brulee. I'm makin dessert this weekend for mom's day!

I just left Costco 20 minutes ago. They are 8.99 for a big clamshell which is waaay better than 8.99 for 4.4 oz. Plus I got 2 raspberry and 1 blackberry container for 15 bucks at the Venice farmers market. I don't think they are organic but whatever! I can't chase all over the city looking for it.

TESCO, along with ASDA are two of the most common grocery stores in the UK and they've got mini-marts in just about every rest area as well. Anytime you travel, chances are pretty good that you'll be stopping through one of those to grab some grub.

So here's what the rest of my afternoon is gonna be like.
I just rented the 3 Bourne movies, popped in Identity and got a basket o' berries to tide me over for the next couple hours. Dude..that's so hardcore!! Bourne and berries!!

I just got back from an awesome bike trip to the Portland Oregon area and they have wild berries growing all over the place. Still too early in the season for berries, but come summer you can't find any better. Great berries and even better riding!!!

Oh my, you've all missed the true joys of berries.

My wife & I will be sharing a nice bottle of Iron Horse bubbly this Sunday with a few berries tossed in to nibble on.

I'd do that if I could drink. I put cream on them.

I have a client north of Seattle, WA. I commute on a bike from the Hotel whenever I can.
The folks there say the way you can tell locals from tourists is that the tourists are always stopped by the side of the road picking berries.

It is so sweet (no pun intended) to always have a yummy snack nearby whenever you ride. Getting the blackberry stains off the hands is tougher than getting grease off, but the berries are great.
