Certainly looks like an old GT LTS. I'm not sure about the fork. Maybe Hanebrink? The rear shock is a Rock Shox. Both the fork and shock are reportedly unreliable. Some of the owners on MTBR really like theirs:

![]() As far as the fork, dang what was that one with the weird arse name? Kinda like Fizik but longer .... around '99/'02 time frame. ![]() edit, strobelite beat me to it, zzyzx.

With the seat pivot in front of the seat tube and below the top tube, it looks like a larger sized 1996 GT LTS. It's not of the last generation LTS with the pivot in front of the seat tube and style of linkage it has.
Honestly, although it is a cool vintage bike I don't think I would go for that particular model and if I did, I wouldn't give too much for it. All those linkages could be very worn. That will be very hard to source parts for. So long as you don't invest too much into it, you could always off it on the bay. JMHO. The old GT hardtails are another story. Not much to go wrong and a great design. Still a cool find though. |

I believe that's a 1995 LTS. The 96 LTS had the brake posts at a different angle to fit the latest and greatest brakes of the era - linear pull brakes, aka Vee brakes.
Those magura brakes are pretty nice when they work well. If I ever build a trials bike, I will want to buy those from you. Without seeing more of the fork it's still to hard to say. The SPOX wheels are interesting. From what I remember, they were very light.

My first riding bub, Russ, rode one of those bikes and he killed it on that bike. He broke the rear linkage and I remember it took him months to find replacement parts after GT went under. He now ride a older Bullet.

The Calmini sticker hints the bike was probably owned by someone in north Orange County - likely the Anaheim area. I'd bet that bike's been to Big Bear a few times! I doubt it was a DH racer, or it would have a chain guide system with a single ring. Even if it was a beginner DH racer, it I'd bet that it would have a KORE Chain Reactor. Funny...I probably saw that bike on the trail back then. Remember the dual crown SID? What was up with that? It was a heavy "lightweight" fork that flexed too much.

Actually, I rode it around the lot and it felt solid for what it was.It was well Maintained from what I can tell. I am gonna offer 50$ as the owner of the Pawn Shop has no idea what bike he has.His comment to me was when I asked how much " I dont Know but its a High End bike"! 13 years ago it was.If I go in with a lot of info, he has to sell it cheap or it will collect dust in the shop.

Rear susp is a dead LTS giveaway...mid 90's. Cool bike, I used to dig those things! Not sure if you already bought it, but if you go much past the $350-$400 range you might be better off getting something newer unless it has some vinatage value to you.
![]() PS, scoping trails for Big Bear, have the day split into two rides...some STELLAR singletrack! ![]()
