Default Any Fellow Mud Runners Out There

I have seen pictures from it on the front page from time to time so i am guessing there are a few out there. Since we are now less than 2 months away my training has now begun.

So who else will be out there getting dirty in June?

Camp Pendelton has the Mud Run, you run solo or as a team of 5 and go thru obstacles. June is sold out October still has spaces but will sell out. http://www.camppendletonraces.com/asymca.html

Muddy Buddy is a different event at Bonelli where you are a team with one other person. You share a bike and each take turns riding/running etc. At each switch off you have to complete some odd task and then move on. At the end you finish together through the mud pit and hit the beer garden. http://www.muddybuddy.com/events.php?id=8

Does anyone know what the Mud Pit at the end is like? Is it deep or only a foot or so?
And i assume you can be under 18 since it doesnt really say otherwise?

Mud Run (Pendelton) min age is 15, Muddy Buddy min age is 14.

Not sure about the depth of the mud pits at Pendelton, I heard the water crossings are about 2-3 feet deep, the mud pit at bonelli is not as deep.

Did it last year... the water crossing was about four to five feet deep, and the mud pits around 6"- 12" deep. Good times! Wish I was doing it this year.

I think if you do unisex, there has to be at least two females. Age don't matter.

No prob! Muddy Buddy is teams of 2 any age, the trick is to be about the same height because you share a bike and it saves time to not have to adjust the seat at every exchange. Camp P event is any 5 people.

Try the website, they might have teams of two. Why not just do two solos, and run together? Its a "fun run", nothing official like a mtb race.

The final mud pit at the end is about 18"-24" deep, but you have to Marine crawl becuase there are flags tied about 18" above the top of the mud which you have to stay under.

The river crossing is chest deep for someone 5'11" so...

The most fun is the slick hill which is basically straight up, and they are blasting a fire hose down it so your are crawling up on hands and knees.

The June races sold out in early January. Very popular and after the first time you will be hooked.

Pugz and me are signed up for the October Mud Run. I did it once and survived. The river crossing it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am 5'2 and I didn't drown it must of been up to my chest. The mud pits aren't bad and the Marines help you over the fences you jump.

It's a fun time hope more STR peeps join Pugs and me.

Hmm..
Julia can lie and say she's 14 then she can be on my team for the one in bonelli.
Or steph? I bet she'll kick my butt on the running if she still plays soccer

June will be my 8th one - I absolutely love these things almost as much as riding. I say almost because every year at about mile 4 I ask myself why, again, do I do torture myself continuously every year? And I suffer through the heat, climbing up the slick hill, fly over the walls, dog paddle the water crossing, sprint through the sand and try not to think about why the mud "smells funny."

Then when I beat my time from the last race and finally catch my breath I think "heck yeah, baby!"

Default I'm a Mud Run Virgin!!!

Doing it as part of a 5 person corporate mixed Boots and Ute's team. Best way to pick up a medal - find a category no one else is in! Picked up some jungle boots for $25 at a surplus store. Boy do they stink (fake leather stink) - I had to put them in the garage.
I need to start running around in the suckas.
