Default My early birthday gift..beer

My sweetie... (Singletrack Angel) couldn't wait until my birthday and presented these to me today.

IMG_0787.jpg
She found these at a cool new beer specialty shop in Aliso Viejo called Nuts and Brew. She says "they carried the best of everything." She recommends beer lovers check it out. Apparently they were out of some of their best stuff but I still think she scored a Home-Run!

Check out the label on the Moylans:

Moylans apparently also makes a triple IPA for hopheads but they usually sell out quick.

Can't wait to try this one. Maybe I should wait until Brewmaster's ride?

Seriously we should all go check this place out and support the small business entrepreneur!

Some good stuff in that birthday present

I have a vague recollection of drinking a Stone Old Guardian (along with a LOT of tequilla) on Friday night in Idyllwild. It hides the high alcohol content well but packs a wallop

This is a gorgeous shop, clean and nice... Amazing beer collection. PLEASE give them some business so they don't go belly up!

They had a large supply of the Vertical on-site today.... They were out of the Ruination due to high customer demand. And don't even ask about the 11th Anniversary... long gone. Apparently some friends of the shop owner are hop-heads and clean him out of his hoppy selections pretty quickly, but if you check in with him every week you can get the best selections. He can even get a half-keg of Ruination... Please support this shop vs. Hi Time... he needs the business.

I'm told this one comes closest to the Stone Ruination... Sam, I'll make sure we bring this one for you to sample and compare.

Is this the place in the same shopping center as Big 5 and Chucky Cheese?

My local shop should have the 08 whenever it's released. I think I bought all of their 07.

They have plenty of Russian Imperial, but I can only deal in doses...

Actually, it's at La Paz and Moulton Pkwy in Laguna Hills - in the "Chuck E. Cheese" strip mall.

They had the Russian Imperial in quantity, too...

John's BDay is on the 22nd, but I just couldn't wait to share my find from today...

wow, very impressed!! I think Moylan's makes some of the tasiest brews around, and same with Reaper, in fact I thought they went out of business because I can't find their beers at Bev-Mo anymmore. The vertical epic is very nice. Old Guardian is sneaky, tastes great and you'll feel really good by the end!

This place is right around the corner from Rock -n- Road too, good find!!

Happy Birthday!

I am having great luck still finding the 11th anniversary, however, I have been stuck on the Imperial Russian Stout lately. Also, I am lucky like KeepsWhatHappens, when I came home from work on my birthday, every other stair on the staircase had one of my fave beers on it. I couldn't ask for more than that(especially since I also just got a new bike).

I love Sleighor. It's an outstanding beer.

I remember the first time I saw it. My buddy brought it over a few years ago and I said, "what is this slay whore beer?" Since then, we call each other slay whore as a nickname.

By the way, is Reaper back "brewing" again? They had Green Flash contract brewing for them, but then Green Flash stopped the deal to have more capacity for themselves. If not, that is an old bottle of beer (at least a year). Not necessarily a bad thing though.

And I don't think I need to tell you this John, but you have an awesome wife.

The proprietor did say that they were brewing again, but I didn't really get the comment since I didn't know the background story.

And thanks for the kind words, Sam!

great selection of brews...would go to their shop, but it's a bit far for me. Next time I ride at Aliso, I may have to swing by. Just had some Sleighor (enjoy most of Reaper's brews) on tap a couple weeks ago...mmmm..tasty! Keep your Vertical until 2012 when you should open a bottle from each year (if you've been collecting). You definitely have an Angel (or two) on your side!

I've been collecting since 2003.
