Default Question about PayPal

I know PayPal takes a certain percentage of a transaction but I was wondering exactly how much do they take?

Example:
I was PayPal'ed $200.00 for my fork (including shipping). And when I logged into PayPal to check the funds, the amount was $191.90. Does that sound right?

Yes it is 3%. And it get's taken from my account all the time. but, my cooworker sells a few items on ebay, and never has any cash taken out of his paypal account. Same goes for another buddy I have back home.

If the buyer uses a credit card you'll get charged the 3%, but if they use their debit card then I think you don't get charged at all.....at least that is how I understand it

Thanks guys, I'm no math wiz, but $8.10 seems to be more than 3% of $200 doesn't it?

Hmm, I should try to contact PayPal then, I have a feeling it will be next to impossible to get response though. Thanks Steven Jackson.

I just looked up my invoice details and here is the breakdown.

$6.10 in "normal" fee's, which is 3% then a $2.00 "cross the border" fee, WT!?!?! Anyhow, I still got a good price for my fork, so I'm content. I just wanted to clear the fee's up in case anyone else might have wondered why it seemed so high.
