I showed it to some gals at work and they (non bikers) thought the gear there was totally cute.

Lacey was always comphy just wearing baggies and a regular (not race fit) jersey.





Just take your girl to a shop and let her pick out what look's good to her.
The Path carries a decent amount of womens bike gear.

Mtn biking clothes to me are technical clothes. Clothes that fit the sport you're doing. Maybe she could change the "butch" word to "technical." Has she ever participated in sports and worn sports clothing? Perhaps it is a style issue?

I think girls look really cute in their riding clothes and butch is the farthest thing from my mind when I see them. Perhaps the only exception is maybe complete downhill gear with helmet. But for XC she can find lots of cute tops (some snug halters) in very bright colors with shorts to match. Hey, in the summer with a good tan going on, I think it looks hot!

like i said, kinda weird??? but i'm pretty sure that she wouldn't mind hitting the dirt and until now I've only been able to drag her out on my beach cruiser where she can wear whatever-the-hell she wants.
On further thought, if your gal is that worried about what she looks like on the bike, she might actually have less issues with the clothes, but more issues with the sweat and the dirt and the helmet hair and the bruises and the occasional blood. Many of us here think that's part of the appeal, but in reality, I can think of a LOT of girls who wouldn't get near real MTBing with a 20 foot pole.

It's not a good thing or a bad thing, it just is. Guys, Love your gal no matter what, but don't try and make her into something she isn't. (same for gals btw!)
