Default drums??

Does anybody here play drums?? besides dennis (drumnmtb) who I know, I was just wondering if anybody else on here was percussionally inclined.

Reason I ask is because I just found some old mp3s on my computer of me just playing around in my bedroom a few years ago (playing around on the drums...).

I'm a bass player but I always thought myself as a brother to the drummer. I have been checking drummers on youtube out that have videotaped themselves playing to artists like Rush And Queensryche. Pretty neat stuff. Always had an admiration to anyone that could play a Rush tune from start to finish without a mistake.

Maybe

When I wasn't on tour I was teaching drums.
So I play a little.

At one time I had 10 snare drums and 6 Drum kits.
I am down to 4 snare drums and 2 drum kits.
I haven't played any shows for a while. Playing in bands is like babysitting 4 dysfunctional adults. It starts to become a full time job.

I had a 64 track automated digital studio built into my house for 4 years and got burned out on playing and dealing with music.

I started playing when I was a little kid and was playing shows at 14. Now I am old.

I took 1 year of Piano in high school, played a little bit of guitar (have 3 electrics and 1 acoustic), Played a little bit of bass (have a 5 string bass), Did a little bit of DJ'ing, have the beat machine (MPC).

Lets start a band! I can sort of still play the instruments and remember mildly sheet music. But I can read tabs beautifully haha.

I checked out your site. Nice we need to have a party at my house with the equipment all set up and an open jam. A couple people on here have been over for our jams. It was fun.

Jason, what band were you in that toured?

Marshall, I saw on your website that you have worked with Judy Collins, she is our singer's Aunt...small world.

I just ordered a new drum kit this week! But it's a 7 week lead time I'll be selling my current kit once I get the new one if anyone is interested.

Yep. been a drummer for a LONG time. Wishing I was running a mtn bike touring company tho

these are shot's from a recent session ( ftp remote session for some guy in S.America) using my 62 ludwig kit... ( gretsch front head cause i needed a hole in it) My wife picked those up for me last year for my birthday! ( my birth year)

anyhow, i'm primarily a session player, but do a fair bit of gigs, usually quick one off fly dates... but pretty much mixing /producing/Pro Tools jockey now adays. We've got a pretty good little group of mtn biking muso/production guys together riding down here in carlsbad.... love to meet more mtb folks in the biz tho!

I park all of my kits up at the studio I work out of : Soundenstudios in san clem, btw: RIGHT NEXT TO SAN CLEM SINGLE TRACKS! ( if anyone wants to come by and take a tour, record a track and then ride!!)

I've got: GMS, LUDWIG, Gretsch, Yamaha rec custom, and 9k series, Bleifuss custom, and about 25 snares ( including the Oh so cool Tama Bell brass on the floor in the pic that I might sell to finance my new CHUMBA : )

We Rock Band at work last year and I fell in love with playing the drums. I kept practicing and got to Expert level pretty quickly. I figured the next step was to get real drums.

So a few months ago I found a nice set on craigslist and practice almost every day before work. I'm not fancy AT ALL, but I can keep a solid beat if I keep it simple.

I'm actually looking for a used hi-hat stand in anyone has an old one for sale.
