Coworker did that on his windows and linux PC's. The only downside is that the icons sometimes get grainy because they aren't vector like on a Mac. Now he runs OSX.

why can't you have a mac? You know they will run windows now right? I have a few friends that work in the tech field and they have a macbook pro because it will allow them to help clients with mac or pc.

Try Rocket Dock. Very customizable and good user base is always coming up with cool schemes. You can nail down the Mac launcher almost to a tee, or take it in a completely different direction if you want to. Very slick utility - and best of all it's free!

Oh, and why bother with the expense of buying a Mac if you already have a PC. With a bit of tinkering, PC owners can run OSX. Check out: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/indexpage.php and http://www.osx86project.org/.
