These kids are being warehoused for the time being with the most important thing being that they pass enough tests to move them along through the system. Soon enough they will find themselves at 18 years old and nothing to look forward to except living in their parent's basement and being a drain on society.

Sure there are many that have legitimate need for these resources, but there are way too many that suffer from nothing more than bad/soft parenting.

I should clarify that I teach high school and many of my ADHD students are on meds.

Plus, don't you remember how boring chemistry was?!?
Boring? I LOVED my chem class in high school, it was probably one of my favorite classes.

I agree alot of the problems have to do with a lack of discipline/respect, I have heard stories of kids saying they would turn their parent into child protective services if they spanked them.

I said that tongue-in-cheek...I am a chem teacher

You are probably in the minority of people who actually liked it though. When I tell people I teach chem, they are like, "Oh........".

My Chem teacher was the basketball coach but it did not help me when my wrestling coach would yell at us "If you guys want to be loser Pu#&ies then go play basketball" during basketball practice when were running the bleachers. It did not help because I had to beg for that B- and try to explain that I did not share the same thoughts about your basketball team.

I actually really liked my HS chemistry teacher also. Somehow I wound up getting an A, so I definitely have no complaints

Were you one of those girls in school if I tried to check out your answers during the test you would curl up and hide your paper?

I am pretty good at those things many years of playing poker. I knew who the cops were on here before they said anything about them being cops.

well, i don't think hitting kids is ever the answer. and there's plenty of research to back that up. many of the students that fight at our school were..."disciplined" at home- maybe excessively, but sometimes it teaches them the wrong lesson or they act out on other kids...
