Started smoking at 18 after joining the Marines. Quit when was 36.

Could smoke anywhere from a pack a day to a pack ever 3 days. It just depended on how drunk or stressed out I was.

Marlboros (Reds, Lights, Menthols), Kools, Newports, Camels...I was an equal opportunity smoker.

I don't smoke anymore either, but sometimes I do miss it. I don't miss the smell or coughing up a lung though........just the feeling after the first inhale.

For 16 years, I smoked cigarettes (Kools, then Camel filters, also Bugler -no comment), 1 to 1 1/2 packs a day.

I quit over 12 years ago. I've quit many bad habits; cigarettes were one of the most difficult. Once every year or two, i'll have a good Cuban cigar... if it's a special occasion.

Thankfully, never.

I have lived all of my 41 years in Los Angeles, so I’ve probably got the lungs of a “pack-a-day” smoker?

Cool. Impressive as hell.

Cheers to everyone who has quit smoking. Nice work. OT: I went on a date a few years ago with a girl I met at a coffee shop. She was a smoker, which was normally a deal-breaker, but the conversation was good so we met for a beer one night. Mid beer, she told me she was addicted to heroin a few years back. After getting the full story and seeing where she used to shoot up, I asked her about the cig habit. She replied, "I can't quite kick it."
