You would be hard pressed in any industry to find a product that didnt take "sample" designs and ideas from previous products. In the offroad industry we hear bitching left and right from suspension companies complaining about others copying them when they have copies others themselves. I say there is nothing wrong with sampling ideas just dont directly copy and exactly duplicate, instead make yours obviously better and different.
