I saw a girl in a BMW flick a cigarette out her window right as a guy on a chopper was pulling up to stop at the light. He bent over, picked it up and flicked it back in her car. It was funny as hell!!!

With all due respect, sir, quitting cigarettes is NOT easy. As a former smoker for 16 years who quit 12+ years ago, I can assure you of this. And just for the record, i've quit some of the worst habits there are (PM me if you want to compare qualifications). As a matter of fact, if you haven't quit cigs yourself -personally-, you haven't a clue.

Wouldn't want to get that bmw ashtray dirty.
On another note, its funny I drive so many cars for a living and noticed 95% of cars made now days do not come with cig lighters anymore. The receptacle is there, just not a lighter. Many dont have ashtrays either.

I smoker from the time I was 15 to 25 and had about a pack a day habit. I never had a problem. The reason was the girl I was dating at the time (now my X wife) was allergic to it. We were married for seven years and I never started back when we split up.

I'm not bashing anyone here but anybody can quit anything if they have the desire to.

Bottom line is that there are considerate and inconsiderate people of all sorts out there.

There are inconsiderate drivers, bikers, people in line behind you at the grocery store...etc, etc. Not trying to single smokers out at all.

I think this thread is more about being considerate to your fellow neighbor or with your friends...whether that means not blasting music at 1 am on a weeknight or holding the door for the elderly person behind you.

HUGH, I get the whole rude friend stinking up your place thing. But man O man, you're a welder by trade. TIG at that. So your face must be in da smoke all day long at some point. You can't have a fan right there or it would blow away the gas. What do you do? I worked in a fab shop for 16 years. I think the second hand welding smoke took more time off my life then all my smoking friends put together. Of course it's better now.... I stand in front of screw machines (that smoke like a m fer).

I love all this pontificating.
"Smoking causes pollution and I don't want to breathe second hand smoke" etc.....
Then all these holier than thou people go and get in the SUV that has a V6, gets 12mpg, and floor it everywhere.
Either don't pollute at all, or stfu.
These people have the same logic as the Sierra Club, ie "It is ok for my hiking to cause trail damage, but your bicycle isn't ok to cause trail damage".

Smoking is my bad habit what's yours?

Candy, Tequila (the good kind), Cuban Cigars (a couple times a year), Slow MTBing (purposely), I'll tell you the rest in private.

Traci - Don't take it personally it's just a msg board. My girls choose you as a freind smoking or no smoking. Any freind of the girls is a freind of mine.

I am not going to say 2nd hand smoke is not bad...but my momma died of cancer in Jan 07. She never smoked and was a very healthy person. In a matter of two months she was gone. I don't blame 2nd hand smoke for this it was more genetic issue.

Traci you will quit when YOU are ready.

Everyone on here thinks you're cool, I doubt anyone meant anything. It's hard to express oneself on a msg board.

Thanks, I just think that everyone (well not everyone) needs to remember that we are not all perfect, and sometimes things get carried away without realizing it.

Allthough some really mean what they say and that's okay too, I just choose not to read their posts anymore (ignore )

For what it's worth I give huge props to anyone willing to try quitting. Geez, we have a weight loss challenge why not one for quitting smoking?

Sorry is I offended anyone but it's tough watching my Dad go from a healthy 225 pound guy to a 165 pound weak old man with heart problems.

I didn't know there were so many fascists on this board.

If people want to smoke, let them smoke. It's no ones place to say what vices are acceptable and what vices are unacceptable and how people should live their lives. Besides, who are we to judge? I'm sure we all have our own bad habits.

I can't breath

I don't smell it

Wait, I can't walk that fast

I can't believe they won't let us smoke here

I've got to quit

Freekin cigs are 5 dollars a pack as soon as the get to 6,7, or whatever I'm going to quit

I could keep this up for a very long time.
