Use iPhoto. Do not load the Canon software.
Suggest checking out a .mac account so you get easy to use email, remote storage, website spaces, etc. and online help videos, etc. |

The black is a sexy beast! But I couldn't justify the extra $$ for the bigger hard drive and the color.
Iphoto is nice in that everything meshes with it well but I do like Picasa better just not out for Mac's yet. And if you want I'm pretty sure you can bring in your old PC to the Mac store and they will transfer all of your data to the new Mac for free. Or go to apples web site and they show you 3 or 4 different ways to transfer over your old stuff. |

http://www.montebellosoftware.com Download it, then PM me. You can transfer all your Garmin activities over to it. Oh yeah...use iPhoto. I'm doing the Aperture 2 trial and it rocks! Now that it has plug-in support, it may just replace PhotoShop for me. |

iPhoto stores the original images, so I needed worry about loosing them. It automatically sorts your images into "events," which is very close to what I used to do manually. Furthermore, you can name events and images, so searching is a snap. iPhoto isn't the best editing software, but it's fine for the simple tasks. |

I like the new iPhoto 08. There's a fair amount of plugins out there that upload to your favorite galleries etc. I just got some cool software that updates the EXIF data in a JPEG using the GPX file from your GPS. On Flickr it will show you where those pictures are on the map.

Garmin is getting better about supporting the Mac.
They've got the new Bobcat out now, and the Training Center has been updated. http://www8.garmin.com/products/trainingcenter/ Also, it looks like Motionbased is moving to support Garmin Connect which is also running on the Mac now. http://www.motionbased.com/gc/view.mb http://connect.garmin.com/ Hope that helps! |

Mac people, let's share our favorite shortcuts and productivity tricks with Gene.
I heart expose. I think it's F9 or fn+F9 on the MB. I also like ctrl+alt+cmd+8. It reverses your screen like a photo-negative. Do it again to return to normal. Useful for looking at negatives (if anyone does anymore). Other than that it's pretty useful as a prank. |

^cool!
Hold down shift while minimizing a window, cool slow-mo effect. Spaces and Expose are both great tools, you can set the corners of your screen to do different things when you move the mouse pointer to that corner of the screen, for example, you can set one to view the spaces, one to clear the open windows to see the desktop, one to show all open windows so you can select one ect. I also highly recommend the Mighty Mouse from Apple, its all integrated with the OS so you can set the buttons to so many different things. control+option+command+eject key= turns off your mac almost instantly. |
