LOS ANGELES (March 26) - Herb Peterson, who invented the ubiquitous Egg McMuffin as a way to introduce breakfast to McDonald's restaurants, has died, a Southern California McDonald's official said Wednesday. He was 89.

The world has truly lost a culinary genious. What could be better than an english muffin, a real egg (non of that poured from a carton crap), slice of Canadian bacon and a slice of American cheese? Dammit - 10 minutes too late to pay tribute.
