Default do any of your heros post online?

One of mine does and it's pretty freaking cool!
Any dragboat fan and drag race fan knows who Eddie Hill is. He had the fastest top fuel hydro for years and years named "The Texan". Then he hung that up and started racing a top fuel dragster. In no time he had both the fastest fuel hydro and fastest fuel dragster at the same time! 229mph in an open cockpit boat is beyond stout!!
He was also the first person to go 1/4 mile distance from a dead stop in less then 5 seconds in ANYTHING.

I moved to So Cal because I wanted to race drag boats (and skateboard all winter). The first thing I did was go to Lake Ming up by Bakersfield as I had always heard of it (home of dragboat racing). Back then they would fire up the boats in the marina and send them all out to the starting rope. I got way out on the end of one of those little docks just in time for Eddie to idle past (@ about 40 mph). He about lit me on fire I got so close. Nitro is bad ass!!

So over at the v drive forum on performanceboats.com this guy signs up as FourFather (first in the 4's) and it's non other then the great Eddie Hill!! How cool is that?? The best thing is he is just a super nice guy and totally down to earth.

http://www.performanceboats.com/html...ead.php?t=5321

So, who else has a hero that posts online (other then Dino Brown of course)??

Steppie is the king. A nice local guy with extensive knowledge of our local trails, and then some trails abroad. I'm glad to have met him and he doesn't take any b.s., for that he is my hero.

To get this back on track...

Marla Streb used to do blog posts, but I haven't seen one from her since about Oct. 06.

I know quite a few XC pro racers have blogs as well, but I don't usually keep up with those.

Other than that... I doubt it. Anyone know if football players have blogs?

Eddie Hill also posts at 'drag boat alley' as "the Texan".

I saw Eddie set a world record out at Ski Land in Perris back around 1979 or 1980. You could hear a pin drop waiting for him to make his back up run.

I used to attend a lot of boat races back in the 60's and 70's. They used to have some pretty good ones down at Marine Stadium in Long Beach too.

Here's some vintage photos to whet your appetite (they do mine anyway) further...

Tinker Juarez, Conrad Stoltz (Xterra World Champion). Tinker actually puts his old gear up for sale. Kinda cool to think you could own something of his: "Yeah, Tinker rode this frame when he won the blah, blah, blah". Great convo piece on a group ride.

And when people tell you they or their friend are the fastest on the river, well Eddie ran over 180mph on the river up in Bullhead. lol
I read that fantastic thread on DBA too.

think it's SHAUN Palmer (unaware to my wife my son was named after him). Agree he is the shite. Loved his x-game run a few years back when he was racing boarderX and "tipped" over last roller and crossed the finish line first on his back & blacked out.he event tried convince the officials to ride final rd when he could barely talk cause he was so tweeked from the bounce.
