And still we will not reduce our gas consumption...

Is that full service? I heard on the radio the other day a station in La Jolla was charging $4.99 for full serve.

If it makes you guys feel any better the prices in Vancouver went up as high as $1.40/litre last year and are around $1.20 right now. The 'experts' are saying it will go to $1.50 this summer.

$1.20/L works out to $4.53/gallon assuming currencies are equal. And that's just for regular. $1.50 would be $5.67/Gal.

At least we're not in London, where it works out to $8.00/gal.

If I have to start paying that amount for gas I will be forced not to drive or find a beater that is good on gas. At 5.20 a gallon I would pay 104.00 to fill my truck. I am already thinking about riding my bike to school when I start.

now here is a conundrum....

diesel is in my understanding... less refined ( diesel is like crude oil.. poured over a strainer. LOL ). So why does it cost more?

It contains way more energy than gasoline, and all of europe knows that. Little 1-2L diesel cars that get 50 mpg!

diesel is like crude oil.. poured over a strainer. LOL

why is it so expensive? why dont we have little diesel cars here?

it's because the oil industry KNOWS that it's better so they charge you more. imagine that? it takes less steps to refine the diesel to gasoline yet they charge more... it's not going to get better...hell europe has been used to this for a long time so we'll adapt.

I saw one on way to Meadows on Saturday. Not much of a crumple zone if Foo decides to run me over with his SUV.

+1. Last I checked, Europe is paying something around 7.20 per gallon.
