Default Time to get back in the water!

Anyone out surfing/bodyboarding yet? I think it's warm enough for me to tolerate the water. I have a 3/2 and booties.

Dean you bodysurfing at Crescent Bay yet? What have the temps been?

I want to get some spearfishing gear too, anyone up for some spearfishing?

I was going about everyday last week. Went locally (newport and hb) and also down south to Trestles.

The water temp has been very nice! 67 degrees with a 3/2 suit on, it feels like summer. I cant wait to head out again once my cold is gone.

You ever have dolphins swim close to you when you surf? Ive had that happen a couple times already. Pretty amazing.

Once this winter and it was cold. I have lost my ability to handle the cold water. I uses to go down there 1-2 week all season long. Now I would rather ride. I think I will wait until the water warms...I hate hasseling with wetsuits...

Cresent Bay is pretty nice this time of the year, nobody down there. If I knew it was 67 degrees I would be hitting it.

well i havent been to the beach yet this year.. but last year i went a few times.. one time the waves werent crashing normal, there were kind of self imploding then rolling so they were hard to cath on a boogey board.. well one was like 8-10 feet tall and i tried to paddle over it because it was still forming, well, somehow it picked me up, flipped me over and sucked me under. I was under for awhile and i opened my eyes and was just chilling underwater trying not to suffocate. Now for some reason im afraid to play on any waves bigger than a few feet

"Over the Falls" happens when ya catch a wave to late or ya don't dig hard enough. Give her another try...nothing better than getting barreled.

I had a whale surface pretty close to me like ten to 15 yards away. Kinda scary seeing the whale swim that close where you can see the barnatcles so close. We were more worried that whale could get beached

I've been in the water twice this week. The water is in the upper 50's. There is a decent NW/WNW swell coming in over the weekend... with strong N wind (which will blow-out the surf and drop the water temp).

I used to go all the time all year then got married and for a wedding gift I got a custom board. Hit the surf a few times with it, then the kids came and now it is either ride the hills or the surf and getting to the trails is much easier.

Last time I was out was during the storm December storm last year.

It's not 67 degrees. I surf 1-5 times a week... it got up to maybe 60 a couple of weeks ago. For the past number of months it's been 53-58. Fullsuit (4/3) it, or wait awhile (till it warms up a bit), or... migrate to the tropics. Me, i'm planning 5 weeks in Indo this August/Sept.!

Surfs great right now a bit cold but nothing bad. Had some good swells about a week or so ago.
