Default Anybody have any connections to a MINI Cooper Dealership

Or has anbody owned or own one right now. What deals they got or what good or bad experiances at any of the dealers. I may be in the market for a MINI Cooper soon. Thanks

Friend of mine got one through dealer auctions, used 05 "S" for about 21-22k I think?

I think it has like 10k miles on it... the plastic dealer stuff was still on the car.

I believe my parents went through LB Mini for both Minis. If I can remember, I will ask them about the experience and deals, if any.

I bought a S model about 2 years ago. I got the best deal at Nick Alexander BMW in LA. I live in south OC and the best place for service is Crevier in Santa Ana. Avoid going to Irvine BMW at all costs, they were consistently azzes and would do anything to avoid warranty work and charge you extra. The service rep at Irvine BMW was so ashamed of the service manager jacking me around, he called me later and told me to go to Crevier as "they'll treat you right there".

A fun car! I traded it for a Z06 Corvette, needed more go. You might consider buying a new one, as the Mini lost very little value for the two years I drove it and the warranty can come in handy, as I found out.

I've been in the market, too. Talking to Alex (lady) at Irvine MINI. She's the internet Motoring Advisor and has been totally straight up with me, no sleazy tactics, no hard sell, just helpful service. She's been awesome but that post two above me is scary.

I don't know much about the Cooper dealership there, but I do take my car to get serviced at Irvine BMW. Fortunately, a friend of mine is a mechanic there, so I've never had to actually go into the service dept and deal with the piranhas. He also gives me free labor and parts at cost (I always throw down a little somethin somethin for him though.) If you end up getting a Cooper, hit me up and I'll hook you up with him. There won't be any paperwork, so it might not be a good idea if you want to track all of that data for when you resell it. I f-ing hate mechanics, so for me it's good to have someone who is completely honest with you, and provides factory-certified parts and service, not to mention the bro-brah discount.

C6 or C5? both cars are awsome and the C6 is the best performance for the money IMO.

warranty being used on a german car? No....

I saw a writeup in the Times for the new Mini; looks very promising. I think I'll try to buy one next year. Gotta start saving.

We bought a 2004 Cooper S at Irvine Mini. Gotta say the experience was exceptional, no BS. Back then all Socal Minis were charging $5K over sticker price. A friend of mine had a buddy at Nick Alexander and the lowest price he could give me was $3K over sticker. At the time, I knew Irvine Mini was selling them for $2K over sticker, so we went with Irvine Mini cause they were the cheapest (without wait) and they had the exact model we wanted.

Our service and warranty with Irvine has been great. The cheapest place where we found a Mini was at Long Beach Mini. They charged sticker price only, but you'll have to wait 10 months for it. All this info, except the warranty and service part is from Jan. '04. Hope this helps.

If you buy i recommend the stick, the auto tranny shifts quite odd as it is a CV trans, you cant feel the shifts. Hard to get used to ( feels like it is slipping). But Pm me. I work at the auction and may be able to help you out.

Yea I heard that the automatic tranny has had issues and was at first jazzed on the sunroof but from the reviews I have read they say it can cut on your cars performance handling. The price for the luxary package is not worth it to me. I want the performance package

When buying a mini, it's mandatory to have a custom license plate & to also name your car.

We own one. My wife bought a used 02 type S 6 speed with the sport kit. Great car. We haven't had any major issues yet. I wish I knew there was someone here looking for one. Our neighbor friend just sold a 03 with the full Bosworth and John Cooper works package. The thing had 215 hp at the wheels, it was insane...and he took 16K for it with 32,000 miles. We wanted to buy it. We are looking at getting some go-go mods put on ours. That loud supercharger whine is addictive.

Yea I plan to do some mods as well. Its like buying a bike we have to add our own upgraded spice. The wheels that I want are the John Cooper Wheels thats why my car is costing a bit more but those wheels are bad arse.

I am going to call my car Fat man in Little Car

Anybody have over 80k miles on theirs, yet?
I'm curious if they have longevity.

My Mom had an 04 S with the supercharger. That car has since moved on to another driver, but it was fun as f**k. Her new Mini is an 07 S convertible with the turbo. I can't wait to get behind the wheel to give her a good flogging.
