If you're going to give Bill Clinton credit for leaving a budget surplus, I think you have to give at least as much credit to the House and Senate that prepared and passed those budgets so Bill could put down his cigar, crawl out from under his desk and sign them

good point, but the theory was that he was potentially set up due to pissing people off....like the entire business world of new york including entities like the NYSE and NASDAQ.

another thing hear on Rush: he made/required his wife go up there and stand next to him, like she had zero choice.

now there's a shot in the dark.

you can also give him credit for not getting us into a war that costs 12 billion/month times 5 years (decades?)...

And how is that relevant to Bill Clinton, and the House and Senate of that era?

I don't play partisan politics. I thinks both parties $uck in too many ways. I was merely pointing out the flaws in assigning credit for budget matters of that era solely to Bill Clinton.

How your comment relates to that, I have no idea.

I've been hearing and reading the same thing. There's certainly not going to be any love loss come Monday when Spitzer is officially out of there.

As far as Hillary standing by her man, I tend to agree with the masses that it was to further her political aspirations. Although now it seems to be biting her in the butt. I've read several articles that state her decline in the current polls is possibly due to the overwhelming opinion "If she can't control her man, how is she expected to lead a country". I'm not really sure how much I agree with that opinion, I'm still on the fence. Regardless of that, I couldn't imagine wanting to go into politics. Your life is put on public display and no matter what you do, it seems you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Agreed, in that both parties suck. Please note that the Clinton Admin passed the Budget Balancing Act, which may or may not have had some effect on cuts and expenditures. I don't recall the exact year, but the Bush Admin clearly let the Act expire without any consideration of extending it.

The Clinton Admin is judged solely on the BJ. I can live with that, but only if history views the Bush Admin as having purposely created a military state.

where do you think the $12B/month comes from (survey says...budget).

Edit: In August 1993, Clinton signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, which passed Congress without a single Republican vote. It cut taxes for 15 million low-income families, made tax cuts available to 90% of small businesses,[38] and raised taxes on the wealthiest 1.2% of taxpayers.[39] Additionally, it mandated that the budget be balanced over a number of years, through the implementation of spending restraints.-- Wikipedea

If you watched it on TV looking at his wife standing behind him it was like she was dead. Her eyes looked like life had left her body years ago...

Not from the same version of Congress I referenced.

I get a kick how he had credit on file. What is that did his friend or the state of NY buy him a gift card for his birthday?

Clinton was not like this guy. I really don't care what these people do in their personal life but when you try to preach that your S%&t don't stink and then you go and mess around...well I don't know about that.

i agree- if you lied about something that was relevant to the grand jury.
