As for being "expected" to be there with him, she didn't have to be there. If I remember correctly, Hillary went in the background for a while and came out at a later time supporting Bill. Spitzer's wife wouldn't be expected to do anything different in this same situation. The fact still remains that she CHOSE to be there. Again, he made the choice to do what he did and the position he's in now is a direct result of those decisions. Granted his wife and family didn't ask to be put in this situation, but how can you put a moral tag on another person when they didin't care enought to stop their behaviour or change his situation.

If he in fact used public money to pay for the hookers, then yes, he should get punished to the fullest extent of NY law. And I agree with you that he is a hypocrite for running on a crime reduction platform and engage in illegal activity himself - very stupid on his part.

I agree with most of your statement and will always appreciate good, healthy discussions and debating. I'm far from believing anyone has to or should agree with my opinion and visa versa. Obviously, I don't know this woman so I can't say why she would chose to stand up there next to this jerk. However I would speculate there are certain things we would all do in support of our children and try to minimize any damage that would come to them because of another parent's actions. I can't imagine what Spitzer's wife and his daughters must be thinking or going through. What really pissed me off was the statement (whether sarcastic or not) "can you blame him, look at his wife". As if that gives any man, or woman for that matter an excuse to cheat and destroy their family. It sounded extremely shallow, perhaps that's not how it was meant but that's how it came across.

Whatever happens, I'm holding out hope that she does deliver a swift kick to his nuts. At the very least...

being in the midwest this week, one of the fabulous talk radio items to listen to was Rush Limbaugh. This was such an amazing topic for him he was likely near a heart attack.

the "conspiracy theory" that amused me the most was that this guy was so hated by the businesses in new york that they had the CIA/FBI start looking for something to get him out of office.

I put conspiracy theory in quotes as i wouldn't be surprised if it were true...anything is still possible.

the guy was an amazing definition of a hypocrite, though:

Prostitution, while not okay in my book, is certainly not the worst thing that has occurred in the last few years. Hell, the world's oldest profession is still alive and legal in Nevada and many parts of the world. The bigger problem is when this involves adultery or underage children.

As far as I'm concerned, this becomes all the much worse when these same politicians have built their platform on religion and faith in God. Spare me the lesson on faith and try to win me over with voting history, values, and character.

Yeah, the only reason why Hillary didn't dump Bill was that she figured he would be beneficial to her political aspirations. Ok, here's my take.
Their marriage is probably one of convenience purely for reasons of political ambition, which is why I think this lady hasn't hacked off his junk and thrown it from the window of a speeding automobile, a'la Lorena Bobbit style. I don't believe hardly any of these political marriages are legit. Look at OC Sherriff Mike Corona and his mistress, Bill Clinton, Senator Larry Craig, of course Congressman Foley and his penchant for buggering little page boys. All their marriages...Fake. These are all examples of people who would have benefited greatly from a divorce rather than living a lie for the sake of polictical aspirations and having it to blow up in their faces.

The Spitzers probably hadn't boned since they're last child was born. Homeboy had to take out his sexual frustrations on hookers. For crying out loud, Mrs. Spitzer looks like she probably has cobwebs between her legs. To me she looks like another glacial ice-queen like Hillary.

It doesn't justify this dude cheating on his wife. Everyone's heard the vows of marriage, "for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. Til' death do you part." If you can't commit, then you sure as hell shouldn't get married. He made that commitment and, by god, he better honor it. If the guy wants to bang high priced hookers, he shouldn't have gotten married. If he was still single he could bang all the chicks he wants and he & the whole family wouldn't be in this mess. At the very least, get a divorce.

As for the hooker...Yea, she's smoking hot..if she wasn't a hooker. Sure, she's nice to look at and probably really good in the sack but at the end of the day she's still human kleenex that sells her body for cash.

$4,000+ seems like lot of money to pay for an ejaculation and a sexually transmitted disease when I could do it myself for free or have my GF do it for zero charge. Ruining your family, your career, and you're whole life in general for a cheap get-off seem awfully foolish to me. If Spitzer and other politicians don't have the wisdom to see that, then how the hell can we expect them to have enough wisdom to run the F__ing country?

This whole scandal gives further evidence to my universal assumption that every single politician on every level of government is a complete scoundrel.
