I'm all about dishing on Spitzer and what he did. But, his wife shouldn't be included in the ridicule. It's unfortunate that the supporting loving wife is expected to stand by her man to help lesson the negative public opinion of the situation.

As far as the opinion that Spitzer should have the right to do as he pleases... give me a break! First of all, the guy shouldn't be in public office. He's the father of 3 teenage daughters. Real nice father figure. They're still investigating as to whether he used almost $80,000.00 of public money for his little habit. He shouldn't make it one of his platforms to create stricter laws and increase fines and jail time to any "John that solicits a hooker" HELLO! What a joke!

first of all, the president got it for free (he had game). also, it was consensual sex and he was defending himself in a witch hunt about a real estate deal, so of course he lied about the sex...we were also in a time of peace and prosperity with a huge surplus- let's give him some historical slack.

As for being "expected" to be there with him, she didn't have to be there. If I remember correctly, Hillary went in the background for a while and came out at a later time supporting Bill. Spitzer's wife wouldn't be expected to do anything different in this same situation. The fact still remains that she CHOSE to be there. I'm free to say what I want and you have the right to defend her. That's the great thing about America.

Again, he made the choice to do what he did and the position he's in now is a direct result of those decisions. Granted his wife and family didn't ask to be put in this situation, but how can you put a moral tag on another person when they didin't care enought to stop their behaviour or change his situation.

If he in fact used public money to pay for the hookers, then yes, he should get punished to the fullest extent of NY law. And I agree with you that he is a hypocrite for running on a crime reduction platform and engage in illegal activity himself - very stupid on his part.
