Default business.trip.from.hell

a- didn't get enough sleep last night before the 4:45 am alarm clock. kiddo needing to be fed/changed at 4:00 am didn't help either.

b- while flying into Houston, we have to circle for nearly an hour due to weather. cr@p. I'm now going to miss my flight. it turns out that continental typically flies late in and out of Houston, so not all's lost. now, time for the forced march at a quick pace from one end of the airport to the other.

c- finally get into Indianapolis nearly 2 hours late. it turns out that something big is going on in town this week and zero cars are available. best part? i discovered that one-way rentals are rare.

side note: if you booked a "to" flight into Indianapolis and a "home" flight from Louisville, don't you think that Expedia corporate booking would make a note of that to the car rentals? apparently not. geeks: Wouldn't this be FAIRLY SIMPLE?!?!?!?!?!

d- change flight to come back to indianapolis JUST ONLY for the F@#%ING CAR RENTALS. fine. go back to enterprise. "sorry- we have no cars left- if you get here more than 2 hours after your reservation, we let the car go". fabulous. what's left? a 12 person van at nearly $100 a day from Thrifty.

note to self: take back anything that i ever said good about enterprise.

e- longer drive than anticipated to get to Marion, Indiana. not much here. nearest off-ramps are 7 miles south and 10 miles north off the interstate. don't ask how i know this.....

f- (perfect letter). I'm in a county where you can't buy beer in convenience stores...and the nearest state-run store is more than I'm willing to commit to at this moment. moment = 2 hour drive starting at 8:00 at night....after I've been up for way too many hours....in a f*#$ing family bus.

g- open up work email. find out that our office manager and the only manager that I've come to like in this company is leaving as of the 21st.

crappy day ends even crappier. just shoot me.

I had a bad trip three weeks ago but nothing compared to that!

Bummer about Enterprise they have been good to me. Enterprise does not do one way rentals.........learned that the hard way two years ago

I don't have my ipod charger. and it's not going to last the three hour drive from Marion, Indiana to Louisville tomorrow.

dude, business travel does bite....

just this week, i had to travel to Jersey of all places Wednesday leaving at noon....had a meeting Thursday just to fly bike Thursday....worked all day Friday, had to fly back out to Maryland saturday morning and still here and have worked 16 hour+ days since then (in meeting right now typing this) and will continue to do so until Friday.

ONLY decent part was how I got to travel

though still not as fun as MTBing

dude, even for me this is pathetic.....i have not a SINGLE ride on my new Terremoto....nor my updated El Rey with new brakes.....

as for the new, new ride......I told Chad to take his time as I am out of the state for a week and then leave for hawaii for 2 weeks so no riding till early april anyway.

In the meantime, i am already contemplating a coil shock for the Terremoto which I have yet to ride! how is that for pathetic?
