For those I see on here at 02:00hrs to 05:00hrs, you gettin' ready for work/school or bed?

Me, I have been getting up at 03:00hrs since high school so it is the norm for me. Plus it gives me time to workout (which I should be starting to do in a few), go for a ride and bs on the net .

The clock says it's 4:31 and I haven't slept a wink. Back problems keep me up. It sucks, because I called off work for tomorrow, today actually, so I could go for a ride in the nice weather. Now, even if my back is feeling better later, I'll be too tired to ride.

Up for work (starting at 0500 today). Unfortunately, I don't do much else on work days and I still love to sleep in on my days off.

52 mile commute and work gets me up at 4:30 and a check on the forums before leaving.

I get up around 2:30am - allows me to go ride before heading into work. either that or head into work super early so I can leave early and ride after work

Just got back from the gym (living room ), 45min of cardio, 10min of stretching and 5 continuous minutes of abs or until they cramp which is about 5min for now, no weights today.

Innes - Sucks about yer back, mine goes out from time to time. Ever since I was 16, had an SI joint slip out of place while squatting a bit more then I should have been and then decided to turn my head because of "something" (hint hint nudge nudge) that caught my eye. These days as long as I stretch and visit the chiro on occasion it seems to keep it stable.

So I guess I am not the only one out riding at 02:30, good to know SOMEONE else is out there, well, other then the guys riding to the corners to wait for work.

I've been getting up at 0400 for awhile... when i'm in the mood, I'll commute the 16 or so miles each way to work or I'll ride in the van pool that leaves at 5:20 or I'll just drive in and leave early....

I don' t mind it so much, I'd rather be awake and free to do what I want to do while the sun is shineing.

I'm typically up at 4am and into the office by 5am. All my life I've preferred to do things early in the morning. On the days I am able to ride, early starts of 6am or 7am work best, because I can hammer for 2-3 hours and still have the majority of the day for family stuff. Finding others who share this view, however, is a challenge. Most rides organized on this forum seem to be of the "meet at 9am...." variety.

Soon as I get back in shape and able to hammer for 2 straight hours we should try and get an "Early Bird" group to head out at 5 or 6. Ever since my "Dawn Patrol" days I have always liked getting out before sun rise, coming home at around 8 or 9 and having a very large omelet with everything in it, some toast and a Guinness (well, not before 10 )

That would be great. I'm happy to buy a set of lights if necessary too.

I'm with ya babe!!! Up at 3am to work out, on the train by 5:30am. Every other Friday and weekends off. I love to ride early, but no one ever wants to join me. Post some early morning weekend rides and I'll be there (unless the drive is more than an hour).

I will keep that in mind, thanks. With some advance notice and planning, I can get my schedule cleared on Friday mornings. An early ride that gets me into the office by 11am or so, would still allow plenty of time for a "productive" workday.

How about some reverse night rides? Start in the dark and end when the sun comes up. Great in the summer. You also get to see(and be seen by) way more wildlife. I'm an early riser and I'm often on the trails by 6:30-7:00am.

The only time I post late usually is Fridays. I drive home from Vegas after working all day. I typically get home at 12am and find it hard to go right to bed. I usually don't ride Saturdays, sleep till noon.I normally wake about 6:30 am otherwise.

I'm only up at 4 to take my son to his high school water polo or swimming practice. I get to work early every morning now. Weather permitting, I have started to ride the Loop at 6am on Fridays (there's your reverse night ride, rossage) so it's all GOOD!
