Bicycles
![]() A good place to find white people on a Saturday is at a Bike Shop. Bike shops are almost entirely staffed and patronized by white people! But not all white people love bicycles in the same way, there is much diversity. First up, we have the younger urban white folks who absolutely love their fixed gear bicycles. These are seen all over college towns, Silverlake in LA, Williamsburg in Brooklyn, Queen West in Toronto, and Victoria, British Columbia. Fixed gear bicycles meet a lot of requirements for white person acceptance. They can be made from older (i.e. vintage) bicycles, thus allowing the rider to have a unique bike that is unlikely to be ridden by anyone else in town. They are also easily customizable with expensive things Aerospoke rims, Phil Wood Hubs, and Nitto Parts. The combination of rare bicycles and expensive parts makes it easy for white people to judge other white people on the quality and originality of their bicycles. This is important in determining if someone is or isn’t cooler than you. White people also like Mountain Bikes because it lets them be in nature. It’s really not more complicated than that. And finally, they love expensive Road Bikes and the accompanying spandex uniforms. This enables them to ride long distances and wear really tight clothes without any social stigmas. These types of riders will spend upwards of $5,000 on a bicycle and up to $400 on accessories, but will not ride to work. Perhaps because they cannot wear the spandex. It is important that you never question why someone needs a $5000 bicycle since the answer is always “performance.”For the most part, these rules have been unisex. But there is a special category of bicycles that appeal far more to white women, the European city bike (pictured). White women have a lot of fantasies about idealized lives, and one of them is living in Europe and riding around an old city on one of these bikes. They dream about waking up and riding to a little cafe, then visiting bakeries and cheese shops and finally riding home to prepare a fancy meal for their friends who will all eat under a canopy with white Christmas lights. This information can be used to help gain the trust/admiration of a white woman, especially if you can pull off a lie about how your mother told you about how she used to do all of these things when she was younger. And of course, it goes without saying that white people who ride bikes like to talk about how they are saving the earth. If you know a person who rides to work, you should take them aside and say “Hey, thanks. Sincerely, The Earth.” Then give a thumbs up. That white person will ride home on a cloud. Interesting observation. "about time someone made fun of us white guys." I don't get it. White people seem to hate themselves. It's ok to rip yourself up or have other people rip you up, but the second you do any other ethnicity jokes, then you are a bigot and a racist. Also, white people seem to go WAY out of their way to not have people think they are racist. All of a sudden, white people talking ebonics and whatnot is considered cool, and anyone that speaks out against it, like Bill Cosby, is considered an Uncle Tom or a bigot. Interesting.
BTW, I am not white. Also, I've seen that website and think it is hilarious. |

Don't get me wrong. For some reason it brought out my hatred of political correctness in this country. And I notice white people taking PC way out of hand where it makes every little thing ridiculous in this country. It's like late last year, I heard on the radio where some lady called in bitching about Black Friday and how it should be renamed because she felt it was racist and felt it meant black people were cheap or some BS like that. The DJ's asked what ethnicity she was and she said she was white. Go figure.

92se-r, Look dude this was not meant to be some starting point for a larger discussion on political correctness. The site is funny to me and I'm sure others. Some may not find it funny. Looking at the list of items I'm certain there are plenty of blacks, asians, latinos, yuppies, wasps, middle class, etc. that like some or all of the items listed. The point is the list is funny. If you or others are bothered by it delete the word white and replace it with something else.

I do indeed dig Mos Def. Blackstar was great.
Modern furniture is great. Antique furniture gives me the creeps. That and midgets.. I can't even drink water around a midget.** **just so ya know, this is a movie reference.

Agreed on all three accounts: Mos Def, Blackstar, and modern furniture!

It is understandable that stereotypes still exist when one considers that we had separate drinking fountains less than fifty years ago. But since we live in So-Cal the line between White and Black is a lot fuzzier than back east for example. South O.C. is the definition of a melting pot if there ever was one and the people of color who have assimilated are oft accused of being "whitewashed". Personally I think all these labels and self imposed segregationist groups erode the unity of community. It's sad that people should take a hint from the Nazis and adopt a sense of national pride. Now don't think I am advocating genocide or that crap, but those folks were proud to be German. Just like our Tuskegee airmen who went over to fight were proud to be called "American" although they knew seating would be at the back of the bus when they came home. I think the era of being "PC" has splintered and fractured our society by causing self conscious behaviors to manifest.
So before I get too far of topic let me say that although I resent being pigeonholed it's great to see that a sense of humor still exists and would not censor anything ever due to a strong belief in freedom of expression and speech. That is why I am proud to be a citizen of the best country on earth because if you can't make a life for yourself here the problem is internal. |
