i wouldnt worry so much about game selection as i have a feeling that the games will start to ramp up right quick especially now that the format war is over people waiting will now jump on the PS3 as it's an ALL-IN-ONE type of home unit

Good choice Hugh,
No matter which platform (even PS1) the games will still work so it merely comes down to preference. An up converting DVD player can give the Hi Def experience for less than a hundred bucks. My objection is the noise and interference I get from the RF frequency wires out of my PS2, the picture is good but on a large TV looks like VHS due to the similar technology. If you want to have some fun hook up both the coaxial and HDMI cables on the cox box and alternate inputs on the TV. The difference is night and day since the digital signal cannot be affected by other gadgets like Cell phones, Wi-Fi or pesky media broadcasts. Enough of this typing I am going to use a plastic bag as a weapon in my favorite game ever Manhunt. |

If you have an hd tv, definatly go with the ps3. If not, eh, it really deoesnt matter. I would however get the ps3 over the xbox 360 since hd dvd is dead and the ps3 has been selling like crazy in the foriegn markets and is definatly here to stay, not to say the 360 is either, but whatever I like sony games more than microsoft.
