Chief Beer Officer Does Best Work Before Lunch
Scott Kerkmans was recently named as chief beer officer for the hotel chain Four Points by Sheraton. If you drink a beer in one of the hotels, chances are it was chosen after one of Kerkmans' rigorous morning tasting sessions. Yes, he drinks in the morning. I want this job! ![]() |

"Something just seems a little bit wrong about drinking beer at 8 in the morning, every morning, for me, so I often will wait until about 10 on the mornings that I'm tasting. Not to say that there's anything wrong with having a beer for breakfast.
Sorry Brewmaster - this guy is my new HERO!!!! ![]()

When I was growing up,I was always told not to drink before noon.
When I was 22y/o I was stationed in Germany. What a difference. They started drinking @ 7a.m.! A few sips @ 10a.m.break,finish the bottle @ lunch and start a new bottle, and finish that @ afternoon break.Go to the Gasthous w/buddies for a few more before going home to the frau und kinder. They were able to function o.k.,so I have no problems with someone having a beer @ 8a.m.I work rotating shifts and when I get off of graveyard shift in the summertime,I don't hesitate to crack open a cold pale ale. You ought to see the looks I get from some people when I tell them that. They're like,"how can you drank that early". I remind them that I just got off graves and 6a.m.to them is 6p.m.to me! -Lloyd
