Dude, you must be out yo' damn mind! Like DZ said, lard-ass is done and should be in the prime of his retirement now. He's a stereo typical athlete who doesn't know when to quit. He's not what he was and needs to come to terms with it. It's not like he needs the money. I wonder if Shaq being in the midst of a divorce motivated him to move or want to move to another city.

At this point, I wonder if he'll even pass the physical. For Miami's sake, he better!

Boston still has many weaknesses, the bench and a another point guard being one of them. time will tell but don't be so sure of yourself.

Gotta be careful there. Remember the last Boston area team that thought for sure they would win it all.

I don't think you can compare todays Celtics with the Pats, I mean if you won as many superbowls and you were 18-0 you would think you were going to steamroll throught the superbowl. The Celtics are the best team in the NBA but they are not a dynasty. The pats are a dynasty

Correction: The Celtics are widely considered much more of a dynasty then The Pats. No other NBA team has won 16 championships as the Celtics have. You youngins need to check your history. Bill Russell and company put the fear of God into many NBA teams for many years. Especially Jerry West and The Lakers.
So they haven't done jack since the 80's. Doesn't take away from what they've accomplished thus far.
The Pats, on the other hand have only been dominant in recent years and have only won 3 Championships in total. Too bad they'll go down as the only team who went 18-0 and lost in the Super Bowl. 72 'Fins won the super bowl; HUGE difference.

I'd rather be 10-6 and win the big game then go 18-1 and lose the super bowl. It was all for nothing and Bill B. is a huge arss-hole!

I proberly should been more clear. We all know the celtics are a dynasty overall but I meant a dynasty for this decade like the Pats are a dynasty for this decade.

You mean like a 'mini-dynasty' with some asterisks?

It must hurt even more being it was NY that did the evil deed.

man lots of speculation going on in here... here is some more, Shaq going to through a divorce and on a losing team [w/or without him], maybe it's just time for a change. we'll see.... I for one hope he does well, wherever and whatever he decides to do.

I am a KOBE hater not a Lakers hater!

Someone brought up the great Kareem... at 41 and in the last days of the 'Showtime' era... all he had was his un-defendable skyhook. He could hardly play defense, and could not keep up with Magic and Worthy... so Shaq could to do the same for the Suns. They have a pretty deep front line, more so than the Lakers.

Shaq can't do the same for the Suns because he has no skyhook or any other un-defendable shot. He is done. Plus, when Bynum comes back, the Lakers will have plenty of size and depth up front along with the super-deep bench in the backcourt. It's gonna be fun watching Bynum and Turiaf pushing around granpa Shaq.

Slight (pun) differences between Shaq and Kareem is about 150 lbs. and 30 percentage points in free throw average. 'nuff said!
I still don't understand why more centers around the league don't work and master that sky hook. There is no defense against it!

Default Great move for the Suns

Shaq makes up for a lot of defensive deficiencies of Nash, Hill, Stoudamire. He's the last line of defense and can control the paint. He still will get double-teamed on offense and can hit someone on the perimeter spotting up. Shaq is still a dominant center.......

Wait this isn't 2001? I take back everything I just said.

This would have been an ok trade years ago before shaq got his AARP card. He's not that old but in the NBA he's an old man and his old heavy body hates him now with all his injuries. I say the suns just traded one of their better shooters for the world's largest bench warmer.
