That is a great point and I totally understand. I'm 31 (born in 1976) and feel like I'm part of an interesting transitional generation. I remember the rise of the internet, the computer, etc. Thank you both for not getting all bent out of shape about the comment. It was meant very lightheartedly.

Carry on with the rave conversation...

i cant understand why peple do them. i know this girl at my school that used to be cool now shes been doing E and weed and drinking and al this bad crap and she like cries in class because we're trying to get her to stop doing drugs but shes already addicted and shes already losing her brain. in the few months shes been using extacy she's more stupid, she shakes nonstop, and shes bipolar i guess. shes happy one minute and bitching at you the next
I can totally understand why people drink and do drugs. Unfortunately sometimes the wrong people do drugs and alcohol for the wrong reasons. Drugs are not my thing. Drinking is another story. I really enjoy drinking and drinking responsibly. That means waiting until you are old enough to know what it means to drink responsibly. Beer, wine, and other hard alcohol drinks are great fun in the right environment. There is nothing wrong with waiting until you are 21 to start the enjoyment though. I didn't start drinking until I was like 20 years old.

so even you cheated and did it underage?
oh well
i doubt ill ever really drink
as it is now, i dont even drink soda.. and thats by choice. it seems like nowadays if you eat or drink anyhting that isnt natural its bad for you. but natural stuff is more expensive and since we are trained to eat the preservatives and stuff tha natural stuff doesnt usually taste as good. wow way off topic

The character that Justin Timberlake plays I hear is based off of a real guy. A couple people from SGV UNITY I have talked to said they used to hang with the guy.

Also about the rave thing, you're going there to meet girls yet you know everyone is messed up on drugs. Are those the girls you want to meet?

Bflo,

You seem smart enough to know what's good & what's bad. You can always check it out just so you know what goes on at a rave. Live life but be smart about it.

I've personally never done any of the hard drugs, I've tried the pots but never enjoyed it (not the case with my roommate). I do know a lot of people that are into recreational use though, and the only thing I figured out is that if you're going to experiment, do it in high school. At least that way by the time you get to university you'll have it out of your system in time for the things that really count.

By the way, I'm 21, almost 22, and drink pretty often, didn't start any of it until around 20 (also). I am pretty responsible and only really let go when I'm either at home with friends or out with a DD.

Keep in mind I am not advocating drugs at all, but I'd much rather see someone my age who's tried stuff and gotten over it than someone who gets ruined by doing it now out of novelty.

Not sure any of this really makes sense, I've been doing tons of schoolwork and I'm kinda delirious right now.

Honestly not trying to hate.
Maybe you should end it with a question mark.

Just ribbing. I think it's because they don't read. Also, text messages are changing our language...

People are killed quite often at the desert raves. A young couple was murdered just two weeks ago. When you put yuorself in a group of druggies out of control , you give up control of your own situation.

wait in which desert were they killed?
in barstow around x mas
there was a group of teens and they partied all night
i guess it was a small rave
maybe 50-100 people
but one guy was hauling butt in his bronco, lost control slammed into his buddy in a toyota tacoma and almost went straight through a camp with little kids.

No not that one. This teen couple was shot dead when some thugs wanted to rape the girl and the boyfreind protested.

I have a rule: never correct someone's grammar unless you're their family or they are correcting some else online. You've qualified under the latter.

This is a capitol:

Not trying to hate either. I need you to make me a better biker. Please accept this photo in kind jest from a fellow socalmtb member who loves to be here. All in good fun. I agree with you. The language "ain't" what it used to be. I'm okay with it, though. I accept it if it conveys emotion, expression, or a speedy communication that would suffer whilst waiting for a proofreading. Besides, raves have had a negative impact on my grammar and comma center in my head. That ain't no joke.

As for the OP, be careful. You won't be doing three hour rides if you go whole hog down the rabbit hole. Don't do the drugs, it's easy to cross the line when you go. All that happiness seems like it is being released for free, but it's like riding your bike down the steepest hill and thinking you don't have to ride out. Now imagine getting to the bottom, getting two flats, a broken leg, and completely forgetting how to ride a bike in the first place. That's what happens when you make "rolling" your scene. If you've a good active life, a rave is the last thing you need. Despite what many people say, that scene is built on music and drugs equally. Respect the dangers and be smart.

Could someone tell me where I can find the weed and alcohol thread? I am looking for a quick fix.

Seriously, it is all about moderation. Take me for instance, I never ever do heroin more than once a week.

Okay... Seriously, seriously, good for you! For some, experimenting with drugs is okay and nothing negative comes from it. Others abuse them or are unlucky and do something stupid which has a major, negative impact on their life. It is not worth finding out which person you are. Focus on the things that matter.
