Like many of you I am a self confessed sticker whore. Just like a sailor collecting tats for his full body suit in each port; my back truck window is my canvas with a bunch of bike and board related stickers on it rep’ing my favorite company’s, shops, and of course our beloved STR.
While I currently have a few rigs and sold a few over the years, I have always had a Fisher in my stable. In fact my very first mountain bike back in the day was a Fisher Marlin rigid HT use for some "urban" riding in the mean streets on NYC. As such a Fisher sticker on my ride. So what’s the issue, right? Well as some are aware I'm parting with my (current) Fisher using the component for a new build and will most likely selling the frame (med red ziggurat if anyone is interested but not point of this post) Anyway, question is what is the call on continuing to rock a Fisher sticker on my truck without owning one? Do I have to remove it? Can I place a “in memoriam” phrase on top like the folks who have stickers for fallen loved ones? Am I covered if I periodically shuttle a friends bikes (yes, a Fisher). Am I obligated to buy another Fisher? If we have another son, and I name him Fisher will this be acceptable? As you can see a significant dilemma on my part. What say you my STR peeps? By the way as I type this I have already chosen to consider this akin to getting some ink with a girlfriends name on your chest only to break up and have a permanent reminder of love gone bad and its there to stay!!!. (not that I would know anything about that) Well, except the bike wasn't bad, and the sticker is not really permanent and I didn’t buy the bike after a night of drinking like a fool and well…never mind. F - it. The sticker is here to stay and the bike is bye bye baby!!!

Since I don't have tats, maybe I should learn a leason here and steer clear of stickers too!
All seriousness aside, I thought this was going to be a deep thread. Questions like "Is it cool to put bike stickers on the windows of the local police station?" Or "Should I remove stickers I don't like from other peoples trucks with a razor blade, or just bust the window with a brick?" As far as I'm concerned, your quandry is in a grey area. Just gotta do what's right for you!

I think you should have a couple drinks and make some bad decisions...
![]() Pretty much you're gonna own an 08 Fisher and have a vinyl "Fisher" sticker the size of your body on the side of your truck. If you have tequila anyway.

Hmmm.
Well, my neighbor whom I enjoy taunting, belittling, and just plain giving him a hard time on everything he does, well, he decided to one day put a manitou sticker on his truck window. When I saw it I figured it was the perfect opportunity to razz him a bit, and I did, teased him with things like.."so, you are so proud of your manitou, and so pleased with its performance, you figured what's a better way to show your appreciation to the manufacturer than putting this cute sticker on your truck window so that everyone that see's you driving around knows your love for this product, and your sure this is the kind of company that deserves this attention?" You know, just some dumb a$$ $h!t talking, and the sticker stayed, no biggie. I have nothing against manitou, or applying stickers/decals to ones vehicle, heck, at the time I was running a manitou fork on my main ride, still have it, still works, still happy with it. On another occasion, after getting rid of the bike with the manitou, he picks up a bike with fox front and rear, and applies a fox sticker to his truck window. He didn't remove the manitou sticker. I waited a couple months before I decided to goad him into removing it, it didn't take much more than asking him if Fox would like to see him driving around with a manitou sticker on his truck window when he didn't even have a manitou any longer, how embarrassing. If this was anyone else, I wouldn't have said anything or been a d!ck, but this guy grates my nerves to no end, I find very therapeutic to bust his chops whenever I have the chance. I know everyone has allegiances to their favorite products or what nots, thats cool, I do it, we all do it. In my humble and honest opinion, I think you should do what it is that makes you feel good, and keeps you in your happy place. ![]() |

It would only be an issue if you were in the car "racing world" IE: Powered by Honda stickers on a Honda.
What in the hell?!?!?!? ![]() Edit: Does Dino have an Iron Horse sticker on his truck?? |

I have a solution for you Adam. Just find someone with a Fisher, ride it around the block every once in while. That way if anyone asks, you can say you still ride a Fisher on occasion! You can still have a connection to your old Fisher and don't have the guilt of looking at the sticker and feeling like a Fisher poser.
Or you could jump Dillon and steal his Fat Possum. Your choice...
